Half day session and I was about to head back after one last drift when this brute attacked my jig and took off like a freight train.

Wow...such a huge white trevally called Shakai in Malay. I awarded you the best fisherman in Singapore. Hope to meet you one day. Jo

Haha thanks Jo but im definitely not close to being the best fisherman. Thanks, now i know the malay name for it

Nice Brandon. Good job with the coral trout release. That’s a tough one for me to do. The trevally I caught once from jetty. Like you said...freight train on light tackle
@barrabran4 жыл бұрын
Thanks mark. Haha i don't always release them lah.. Yeah man pretty strong, and it doesn't help that there isnt much leverage to pump the rod when sitting so low on a kayak

Hi bro, do you mind sharing the lures that you are using? I'm new to fishing using lures so i would appreciate if you could help. Cheers!
@barrabran4 жыл бұрын
Hi, i usually use the zerek speed slider 40g, ima gun 40g and the autumn angel jig 40g.. 30g if the current isn't too strong but the weight of the jig depends on what setup you're using

Hi bro, what advice would you give to someone who's never kayak before and keen to start kayak fishing? How does one even go about doing it?
@barrabran4 жыл бұрын
Hi im still new myself but my advice would to rent a pedal kayak at adventure paddlers with a buddy and give it a try fishing on a kayak first. Because honestly its very tiring stuff and requires a lot of commitment and its not for everyone. If you find it suits you and can figure out logistics of where to store or how to transport your own kayak then you can talk to alton at nautic adventure sports because that's where i bought mine.
@digitalqueens4 жыл бұрын
@@barrabran Thanks for the great advice! Am quite sure I will get to enjoy the fishing but not so much on the peddling yet haha. Been an offshore and local freshwater angler for many years and this kayaking thing is something I would love to explore and pick up. Was stalking the comments on your channel videos and did some googling on the berthing rates at One15 so the logistics part are mostly set. I'll probably throw more questions your way soon. Hope you don't mind! Thanks again!
@barrabran4 жыл бұрын
@@digitalqueens sure will help if i can. Just keep in mind that the currents can be pretty strong in the south so pedalling can be a tiring affair. Waves can be big too and sometimes there are those "whirlpools" where currents meet.

Great vid! What are your thoughts about light jigging w a bait caster like you did with the ocea conquest vs a spinning set up?
@barrabran4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm quite new to jigging so may not be the best person to ask this but from my limited experience, i can feel the bottom (useful in avoiding snags) and control the fall rate better with an overhead reel
