Miserable Monsoon - Singapore Kayak Fishing

It's been a while since I brought home any fish but the day that I decided to bring out an icebox was the day I didn't catch any table fish. Winds were incredibly strong the whole day and fishing and kayaking around was a huge chore.

Finally bought a kayak after watching your videos for months! Just an inflatable to start with... Would you happen to know if there are any local kayak fishing groups/communities I could go to for advice?

Thanks man, appreicate it. It is stable without the pontoons but i still put them on when i head to the southern side of Singapore (choppier water) cause i dont tether anything and therefore cant afford to flip haha. It's never got in the way fishing wise for me but it definitely does get in the way of paddling.

Thank you. I use a variety of lines. I can't remember some. But those i remember are ygk pe 1.5 and Unitika shore cast pe 1.5 and sufix 832 20 pound.

Does it take a lot of energy to pedal the kayak? How do you protect against sandflies in the mangrove?

@@timothynataliegoh2404 depends on your fitness level, i dont think it takes a lot of energy unless you're in the south where the currents and waves can be strong. I jusy wear long pants and socks.

Brandon Chin Erm no, I don’t own a Kayak or do I paddle out, I usually go on boat trip. But for Sampan trip yes, use a stringer. This keeps the fish fresh as well :)

@@max_liowce I see. I actually think killing them immediately and draining the blood and icing them would be the best way to keep them fresh because i think they'll be quite stressed if they're just left on a stringer the whole day, hence might affect the meat.

Brandon Chin no worries, you can kill and keep em in the seawater too, it's quite cool actually :) You can also learn the Shinkenjima (Nerve Kill) that keeps freshness
