as an hgv driver,i never used to be into trains, but I do like the freighters,i love the power of the turbos when they move,if I was younger and had the chance that's where I would aim for a job on the railways

A good video and you have taken the trouble (I presume!) to make the trains look interesting with background scenery, etc. The one framed in the railings looks good and makes the video particularly interesting to watch. Keep up the good work!

Thanx for the videos. Can't believe that you still use 4 wheel freight cars there..

It's more the reason that we have far more passenger trains sharing the line, so that we need to keep the line speed up. Look in the video at 4:00 and you'll see a passenger train shoot past at 110 MPH. Just ahead the slow and fast lines merge. Our freight trains are designed not to hold up passenger services.

Just a few words of encouragement for such a good video. Some interesting angles and variety of colours. I notice you do quite a lot of filming at Retford. You might be interested to call in at the Railway club on platform 1 on Monday or Wednesday evenings. You are sure of a warm welcome. There several layouts and many of the members are into Modern image. All the best

Retford seems a good place for freight 🤔😁

looks like freight trains in the uk are on the short side, in the usa 100 + cars are the norm.

Great video by the way! But does anyone how to get accurate freight movement (in the uk) timetables? Or is just luck? The person filming this seems so well prepared. Thanks to those who reply.

Try 'Realtime Trains', it can be a bit frustrating though because a lot of the diagrams can be cancelled.

european trains probably can't pull that much due to their old school (even more old school than american trains) coupling system.... they need the american couplers....
