One thing I'd like to add, I pumped the little primer around 400-500 times to get fuel flowing so instead, I manually pour diesel into the last filter housing almost to full, then start pumping and fuel will start flowing after the 4-5th pump, then after it fills, i put the filter in, pump till bubbles no more, tighten all 3 filters and pump some more till primer is hard. I then wait 5 minutes, give it another 80 pumps and when i go to start engine it starts super easily after 3-5 seconds of it turning over.

Only 2things I recommend is no never changing oil filter and fuel filter at the same time start after changing fuel filter 1st then change oil next. Prime oil system through oil housing so pressure doesnt starve oil pump and used the proper fuel primer to avoid premature failures.

Always use the Ditrot filters and do oil first and do your full filters after running the engine for 5 minutes and also use the primer pump for fuel system

I was told by a mechanic to never take the fuel filter off while waiting for oil to drain. It can fuck up the fuel pump or something due to lack of lubrication when you go to turn the truck back on. Do oil change, start truck for a minute to build oil pressure and lubrication back up, then do fuel filter

I've been reading and researching a lot on the engine oil capacity, and everyone recommends 47 qt which work out to be 11.75 gallons, that put the oil level way pass the MAX line on the dipstick, make no sense to me. I use 10 gallons, and that put the oil when settle for overnight almost at the max mark. Am I missing something I use to put 47qt ( 11.75 gal) and it would find a way to leak, since I've fix the leak and using 10 gal no more leaks and the oil is not above the max line. Trucks are all freightliner cascadia 125 with DD15

+Truck Driver All eld are different, usually a common set up of a eld goes connected to the OBD port with a by-pass cable so it can have precise information of the vehicle motion If that is the case you have to unplug it from the OBD port it is going to be connected from the inside of the OBD port.

Great video except your fill procedures are wrong. There is a Allen head plug that screws out on the filter housing and a special adapter that hooks to your overhead to properly fill all oil galleys before starting. Next problem is Detroit recommends changing one system at a time especially if your doing it without the proper fill procedures. Over time you will cause o rings to fail in the oil pick up system causing it to suck air going down the road while driving. This will be noticeable by a fluctuating gauge. Best of luck to anyone that uses this procedure long term.

So far I have been doing the same process to all DD platform engines(EPA 07 EPA 10), all of them are over a million miles and they still working with no problems. I found that you can prefill the oil coolant module with new oil at the moment of service, I follow the process when I replace any lubrication component However, the process that you told above it is the right one.

I just bought a 2012 Cascadia and based on your video tutorial I did my first maintenance on my truck 😃 Unfortunately after changing oil and fuel filter and water separator i started the engine I can hear a strange irregularity noise like if the engine is sucking air or not running on all cylinders ! One question: What can I do to avoid dry starts when they change my oil at the truck stops? are they just lazy and don t purge the fuel lines? I absolutely hate that,but all but one mechanic has ever done an oil change right and purged the fuel lines.

I have 2011 Columbia series 60 all 3 check engine lights come on and I have a code high exhaust temp high and very high... I replaced my 3 sensors on my dpf system. It was the cheapest. But could it be a doser valve or a turbo speed sensor the one that connects to the egg??? I cleaned and baked both doc and the dpf last week and it has a new dpf module out in November 2016. Is there anything else I should check?? There's no loss of coolant and it doesn't overheat. Please help.

Check your exhaust manifold, turbo and pipes to see if you can see any oil evidence. Possible that the head valve stem seals are leaking or the piston rings.

+Ernesto Dominguez Dealer recommends to replace the oil every 50,000 miles. I recommend to replace the oil every 15,000 miles if you using conventional oil and the fuel filter every 30,000 miles. If you are using synthetic blend or full synthetic oil, I will recommend to do the oil change every 30,000 miles with the fuel filters.

+Maikel Barreto Olavarrieta Yes, you can increase the horse power with the DDDL software but you have a pre-set limit if you want to go over the pre-set limit you have to recalibrate the computer setting. You can just disconnect the on guard system but first check if the on guard system is linked to the ecm to prevent and unwanted problems.

Did some research about O ring lubrication. The rule of tumb is that a silicon base grease like Syl glide is safe on any rubber O rings . If the O ring goes on the oil or fuel systems they are already petroleum resistant so you can use any grease or a light coat of clean engine oil . If the O ring goes on cooling or A/C systems the silicone grease is recomended . If you rebuild a car brake caliper there's a special grease for the O ring and piston called caliper grease that is not going to react with the brake fluid . Little late but hope it helps
