In Tours, Loire Valley, there's an iconic square, la Place Plumereau. It was voted "Most beautiful square to enjoy an apéro in France" in 2014 (Lonely Planet.) If you've been there, you know why.
Lined with restaurants and bars, "la place Plum'" welcomes locals and visitors all day long. Many options to choose from.
A local favorite: Le Café du Vieux Mûrier. It's a café; it's a restaurant; it's a fun place to enjoy a drink and munchies in the evening.

Went to see the lovely old timber framed houses around The Place Plumerea and took a photo with Le Vieux Mûrier. Although I didn’t get to eat in the bistro, I really enjoyed watching your interview with Claire, what a wonderful opportunity to get to know the locals

Merci, Vero, for this wonderful visit with Clare at Au Vieux Mûrier! Now I'm wishing we'd returned there for at least one dinner during our stay in Tours. My chicken burger for lunch was an amazing experience, but now I'm longing for a dinner of pot-au-feu!
