If anyone has tips on how to keep my plants alive, let a girl know ✌️

Do your pots have a drain hole ? It looks to me that your plants have too much water and you need to have pots with a drain hole and then place the pot on an underpot or a plate to collect the extra water, Also place some pebbles at the bottom on the pots and some inside the underpot, for better drainage and for air circulation. Also never place your plants near electric appliances, not only does it perturb the plants it also creates bad Chi for your place. And make sure they get direct sunlight at least 1 hour a day but not more than 3 hours a day.

My plant lady at the market in Carcassonne told me to not water succulents more than once every 3 weeks. Overwatering kills them she said. Other than that it sounds like they're low maintenance!

I am a brown thumb in recovery myself, I have learned to tend them everyday, check the soil, light, and I guess vitamins and food are important. They are basically the next level pets, and require daily attention. Breathing on them is good too.

Really cute space. I would want a small couch though. Just somewhere else to lounge downstairs. Love your bedroom. I will have to try the pink sheeting on my bed to see if it works. (Although I did have a fortune teller tell me once that there was a curse on my love life --so that is probably difficult to overcome! haha.) Your personality comes across here and you seem like a really fun person. Enjoy your time in France!

Love this video ❤ First time viewer over here. I can’t tell you how many apartment tour videos I’ve watched over the years, and the best ones tell as much (or more)about the occupant than the apartment itself. This one definitely gets full score on that scale. I definitely have an appreciation for a self depreciating sense of humor. I have so many questions, perhaps you’ve answered these in subsequent videos… Are you still in Toulouse? What is your job, what are you studying? Have you found your love interest? Full disclosure: I moved from the States to Germany about a quarter century ago, found the woman who became my wife, moved with her from Würzburg to Nürnberg, became a German citizen / former American citizen, bought our home together, and I spend all too much time on KZbin watching young people giving apartment tours. Viele liebe Grüße aus Nürnberg 🥨🍺

Thanks for watching! 😊 And wow, what a wonderful German adventure! I'm glad to hear you found love and a new home away from America. Glückwunsch! I recently finished my Masters in Arts Plastiques in Toulouse and made the move to Paris. I'm enjoying settling in here and finding a poetry/writing/creative community. I'm excited to see what the city brings, both in career (I'm currently freelancing, mainly in video editing) and love. 🇫🇷🌟

So are there brocantes or flea markets in Toulouse where you might find a table like the one you like?
@hellonicolette
@hellonicolette 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, lots of great flea markets here. I actually ended up finding a small table that worked out perfectly. It was thrown out on the street near my apartment, so it felt like it was meant for the space haha. I rescued it and gave it a good scrub before adding my books and plants to it. :)

i like your flat so much! it reminds me of small flats made in old tenement house in my city, saint-peresburg. people privatized parts (rooms) of flat in ussr and now many people make their own flats like yours (with second floor) because old tenement house have high ceiling. love it! and i’m so interested about price of your apartment, i suppose it’s about 500$ or more? Ooh how cool! Carcassonne is so magical. And haha no, it's actually a rice steamer! Sometimes larger grocery store locations (like Lidl) will have sections with kitchen appliances. But I got the rice steamer off of Amazon (I'm sure they sell crock pots too).

If you get the chance some day, get on the train to Albi and then get on the bus to Cordes Sur Ciel. My husband and I (i'm gay) have a house there. I used to live in Toulouse, right next to the Ecole des Beaux Arts when i was a vet student there (I'm a vet and ethologist). Now i live in Switzerland (I'm originally from Iceland, my husband is Japanese), but we kept that house we bought many years ago and renovated. So if you ever want to visit Cordes go for it, you won't be disappointed and if you like it, whenever we are there for the holiday you are welcome to visit us and we'll introduce you to our friends there. Also definitely try to visit the Gorges du Vercor as it is one of the most beautiful areas in the south of France, and since you study art, Cordes has many ateliers of local artists and if you have time and want to spend a great moment among artists, try to get yourself to the village of Lacoste also in the south, which is where the Castle of the Marquis of Sade was built, which was then bought and restored by french designer Pierre Cardin who brought many artists to the village. Both Cordes and Lacostes are among the two most beautiful villages in the south of France along with the Cite or Carcassonne (for its medieval castle) so definitely visit those places. Here is cordes kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXXchHl4iZZ4fqc Here is Lacoste kzbin.info/www/bejne/laK3mXRtg9Rnpck Here is Carcassonne kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpOmhZeGnJaNrLM Here are the Gorges du Vercors which you HAVE TO do if you live in France kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIScmqqnf9t-b9k

@@meganl3859 Thank you for moving there ! Must be quite the change from the US ! I have to tell you a funny story because you're american and living in the Medieval city and this might make you laugh. It is not ill intended at all so please get it the right way. I was working in London and had to go to the Australian Parc Animalier (you know the one i am talking about) to help with a birth as i am a wild life vet, and so i booked a flight from London to Carcassonne and on that flight was a lovely couple of 60 years old americans from New Orleans who were travelling to Europe on a grand tour of the continent. They were sitting right next to me and i couldn't help but hear their conversation and as we started landing, i heard the gentleman after looking out the window, tell to his wife, "Look at this massive castle" and the wife answered "Why on earth did they build it so close to the airport, it must be so noisy for the people who live there". I thought this was the cutest thing i ever heard ! I am from Iceland and when i visited Carcassonne or even lived in Toulouse, i was always amazed by the fact that the castle and the city were older than my country. Until i met a lady from India who told me that the entirety of Europe was younger than India ! It puts everything into perspective doesn't it ? That's why i like living in old places, it teaches us humility.

@@kachi2782 haha well, I was actually in France for 4 and a half + years before this hehe, so it's not that shocking to me actually. But it IS very, very different from Alsace :) And it's a very small, friendly city and I'm not used to that (not that that is a bad thing). Love your story, thank you for sharing it with me!

I actually just used the Facebook Marketplace feature, I found that people listed apartments there. However I'm sure there are other Facebook groups that exist specifically for Toulouse rentals/subleases (maybe just type in some search terms for that on FB?). I also visited one from LeBonCoin, that's a great place to look (in Toulouse, not so much in Paris haha). Bonne chance!
