I love the French canals, I'm currently building a small cabin boat so I can go and hit them for a few weeks at a time but I'm holding off till late next year to do it. At the moment I'm using my tiny boat to hit the inaccessible bits on the Manchester canals , not got the 30 I'm after yet but they are in there . You can't beat wild carp, I'm not interested in lakes any more , too many fairbrass clones 😄👍

Excellent video mate. Just found you randomly looking. only started going fishing june of this year feeder and on a float and absolutely loved it i go at any opportunity. I just bought so much gear i started fishing in a public places, same spot sometimes every day :). Watching fishing content creators like your self byb learning from content like this. My pb at the moment is 15.4 nice mirror and loads of bream and perch. But im still all the gear and no idea when comes to carp fishing so thanks for being educational for rookies like myself

@@jim_lightfoot Hi Jim Just got back yesterday from the Garonne had a great trip as I met up with the French chap who I met down there in the summer fished a few areas had commons of 18 ,24 and a near 30 of 29.14 and a silure of over 60 pounds plus loads of smaller carp under 10 pounds also barbel and chub the chub became a bit of a nuisance Lost a couple of good fish had my hooklink snapped which was frustrating When I go back will definitely take a leaf out of your book and fish much larger baits as I was generally using 18mm or 20 mm bottom baits with 15mm pop ups as a snowman and the chub had no bother taking these, I was also getting loads of liners which I think alot of the time were crayfish My French pal had notable fish of 28 and 37.07 plus many smaller fish He was using much larger boilies and seemed to get considerably less liners than I did the flow and the loose weed were an issue in some places so used back leads to avoid the weed but there are so many fantastic looking swims if you go 12 hours without a take you tend to start getting twitchy and looking to move (the grass is always greener !) The chap I fished with has had many commons over 40 (and a few mirrors) from the river he says fish of over 31kg have come from some of the areas we fished so I'll definitely be going back - just watched the latest canal vid fantastic work there Jim with the 3 x 30's and 2 x mid twenties ! Best of luck over the winter
