FRENCH COUNTRY VIGNETTE | DIY SPRING DECOR USING THRIFTED PIECES | BEAUTIFUL BIRD THEMED PROJECTS

Join me today as I create a beautiful French Country inspired vignette using thrifted items. These beautiful DIY projects feature a sweet bird theme that is perfect for your Spring decorating!
~ First, I assemble tart tins, wood candlesticks and used candle jar lids to create risers. Painted in Waverly Chalk Paint in the color Plaster, which I purchase from Walmart. Sealed with Annie Sloan Clear Wax, highlighted with Howard's Chalktique Dark Wax.
~ Thrifted Bird votive holders become mini floral arrangements to perch on top of our newly created risers.
~ An old frame gets a fresh new look with paint and wax. Then multiple stamps create a vintage bird print full of Springtime charm!
~ A lovely teacup becomes a sweet bird nest, finished with a stamped banner, and crinkled seam binding in the most gorgeous shade of blue!

~ Adorable tart tins are are hammered to become medallions and adorned with sweet birds created from air dry clay, using the Iron Orchid Designs Birdsong Mould. Painted in the color Plaster and finished with clear wax and dark wax.
~ We use our Birdsong Mould once again to embellish our thrifted basket with lovely birds in flight!
~ Finally, I style all of our creations into a lavish French Country Vignette on my dining room buffet to give you Spring decorating inspiration! Each of these crafting projects can be modified to suit your own decor theme, from Cottage, and Shabby Chic to Farmhouse.

Hello Becky, I love these projects because I am also a fan of birds and bird watching. My favorite 🐦 is the hummingbird. They are amazing to watch and at one time a had a beautiful hanging bleeding heart planter on my porch. Those tiny little ones hovered over my head. Was amazing because they rarely stay long let alone come close. I love the tea cup with the nest inside. I have quite a few tea cups mostly collectibles. So precious and I'd like to try that in one of my cups. As always it was fun watching and I enjoyed today's theme. Thank you.

Hello Doris! I’ve enjoyed watching birds since I was a child and had parakeets for years. Hummingbirds are lovely little creatures with fascinating flight patterns. Bleeding hearts are pretty, my mom used to grow them. I used the paper disc inside my teacup instead of gluing directly onto it, so I can use it again. I hope you have fun creating a nest in one of your teacups!

Hope to see more videos like this- I adore cloches. Have one (or two) in just about every room, always looking for new ideas as what to put under them. Bunnies and birds are favorites. My favorite bird would be swallows. Last year for the first time I had a pair nest on my porch, yes, they made a mess, but my cats and I enjoyed watching them. It was sad when the 3 babies and the parents left. But I hope to see them again this year.🐦🕊️🦚

Hello Darla, and thank you! I’m sorry the poor nest was abandoned after the storm…so sad. I bought my small letter stamps from Amazon but the seller doesn’t have them anymore. I found a similar set at Michael’s. Can I ask if you can share where you got your cloche’s from ....I’ve been looking for a medium sized one but my goodness they are pricey now. I love bunnies and birds ....your crafted projects came out so cute!! 💕

You’re right, they are quite expensive! The smaller cloche was thrifted but my sister gave me the larger cloche. She loves Amazon and Macys so it may have been purchased from either of them. I was out thrifting today and saw several in the stores I visited. I hope you can find what you’re looking for BB!

Hello! I styled the crafts that I made in the video on top of my buffet, and placed many inside the cloches. The large bird nest in the small cloche came from Hobby Lobby. All the decorated pieces are shown in the last few minutes of the video. Thank you!
