Thanks Colin for taking us to see Limoges, the home of some amazing porcelain. I love the mix of architecture. The market looked wonderful. The lovely streets, brocante, shops & little old church. It was lovely, 'take care & mind how you go' 😉

Great video Colin and I loved he back history of Kath's home. I went to Limoges a few times in the early 70's when I used to holiday in France with my parents. We used to stay in Saint Palais which is next to Royan. Take care Colin. Cheers, Huw

Beautiful Limoges ❤️. Really enjoyed the video and Kath’s place is looking amazing! When you’re next out and about, you might find Oradour-sur-Glane interesting. Very sad story but worth a visit.

Thanks Wendy. That's definitely on my list. It's only about 20 minutes from me. The Nazi's that planned it were staying in Saint-Junien which is even closer.

Bonjour have been to Limoges many many times it is en route to our house. Such beautiful architecture there Le Gare Benedictins that is a beautiful place to go and have a look at. The Limoges pottery is lovely to. The French as we have found eat almost anything that is alive as we have found. We also went out for a meal and had Plat de jour starter lovely and when the main came well it was pigs brain which was white with white cabbage . Well lets just say I did not eat it🤣 Love going to the brocantes. Lovely history of the names on the house. Loved watching. Bonne Journee

Hi Colin and Jane, Late response this week as we are in Lisbon on holiday. The market in limoges looked amazing and the architecture of some of the old buildings was stunning. We have visited limoges for meals when staying nearby but will definitely make more of can effort in future. The brocante was good....but wow those prices!!! Nearly fell off my chair, but that could be my age! You beat me to saying the lung and stomach sausage should be getting rustled up in your kitchen.....and please do so if you can overcome the thought of it! Your chat with Cathy was good....I chuckled cos I could hear her voice at the brocante before we saw her! No wonder it's called dordogneshire! Anyway mate, great video, super quality as always. Mind how you go...... G

How lovely does all that fresh fruit, veg etc look in the market. Stunning place and a beautiful little Chapel/ church? Excuse my ignorance, but I'm not religious! The brocante was a little pricey? But saying that I'm just a prudent Scot 🤣. Fab update on Kath's place, it's looking good. Stay safe. Look forward to the next vlog.

Thanks Susi3. We're not religious either but we can really appreciate the architecture and the work that went into building them. The market was lovely, we had a freshly squeezed orange juice there. Kath's place is looking beautiful and we're looking forward to seeing the progress on the new three bedroom gîte in the barn. Thanks again for watching. 👍🏼

My exact words on seeing the price at the start "He can jog on! That must be the year it was made". It amazes me the prices people try to charge sometimes for old stuff and I always ask if the woodworm and fleas are included or extra.

Hi nativetexson. We've found that we've got more rooms but some of the rooms are smaller so we've had to look for different furniture that fits in. Hope it's all going well for you. 👍🏼

Hi Colin, loving all your vlogs such an amazing relevant in depth look at life living in France,we are new subscribers from Hobart,Australia. Interested in your comments on the weather in Charante compared to your previous location, we are looking to move to France in the near future (my wife is a French National born in Tahiti, raised in New Zealand), so we are not familiar with all areas of France...much appreciated..cheers Cameron and Marie-Laure.❤❤❤

Hi Cameron and Marie-Laure. Welcome to the channel. Some of the reasons that we came to Charente are, The weather. Charente is the second sunniest place in France after the Côte d'Azur. Where we were ( Pays de la Loire ) is very rural with the associated issues i.e.distance from shops and services. We're now only 30 minutes from Limoges airport. Charente is a lot more French than Dordogne which has many more expats. If there's any questions you want answered I'll do my best to help. All the best Colin.

So sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. Having recently lost someone important to me I can empathise. Really enjoying your vlogs and wondered if your able to chat about car importation for English becoming resident in France . Did you keep your English car the permitted 6 mths then sell it to brits going home or how did you sell it ? Hope you don’t mind me asking regards
@FrenchCountrysideLife2 жыл бұрын
Hi Deborah. Thank you for your kind words. I took my car back to the UK to get the MOT done and then brought it back. We didn't to buy a French car until we had bought our new property because of the difficulty of changing address with the French car registration. I'm planning on taking the Mercedes back to the UK in a couple of weeks to sell it and to see my family. There are people with a lot more knowledge than me about car importation that can do a better job at explaining the process. Thanks again. 👍🏼

That brocante looked a bit on the expensive side. I have a watering can like that from an outdoor version in the U.K. and if we paid £5 for it I think that’s the limit of my husbands moth eaten wallet!
@FrenchCountrysideLife2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Amaya. The Brocante was on the expensive side but, overall the quality was very high. I think a thing is only worth what someone will pay for it. If it's too expensive he just won't be able to sell it. Maybe think about buying poor Mr Strata a new wallet for Christmas. 😀
