Hi Colin, the guest room turned out lovely. Lots of great jobs done this week, from fixing the strimmer, to saving the wildlife from drowning, & creating a very neat tool holder. 👏🏻 Excellent! Thanks for the update. Till next week. Take care & mind how you go 👋🏻😉

Thanks Ann. Sometimes there's a backlog of things that need to be fixed and you just have to get on with them and get them done. Since we've moved it seems like there's a never ending list. 😀 Thanks for watching. 👍🏼

Excellent jobs done this week. What a simple solution for the skimmer cover! And love the tool rack. Wish I had one of those to get that clutter out of the way. Lovely view from your guest room. Very inviting! I’m redecorating the dining room and that last job of Drapery hanging is so satisfying to complete. I expect you feel the same way about completing your projects. 😍 Lisa from Virginia US

Love the rack!!! Thank you both for saving a few critters from certain death 👍 it’s always good to be able to do your own maintenance on lawn equipment and such. WHAT A VIEW in that guest room. I think the bigger hanging on the wall would look fantastic above the bed but that’s just my humble opinion 😜 either way, whom ever comes to visit and stay with y’all will be happy no matter what!!! Mind how you go 😊 and we’ll see you soon 👍

PS A funny story 🤦♀️ Back in June I bought a new “strimmer” for my husband for Fathers Day. Our granddaughter was so excited for him to open it. I was explaining to her as he was putting it together that some people call it a strimmer she giggled and says “wouldn’t it be called a weeder Nana?” I really had to hold a laugh back because her face was priceless when her Papa put the string on it and she put 2 and 2 together. We will forever be call it a weeder from now on 😂😂😂

Thanks Siren Dipity. I enjoy the challenge of fixing things. Although there have been times when I've gotten in way over my head. The view from that room was the reason we chose that room as the guest room. Thanks for all your support, it really means a lot. 👍🏼

Thanks Sally. I used the wood left over from the chicken coop, a gate left by the previous owners and glue and screws that I already had. I think the rack cost me about 5 Euros for the threaded rod and nuts. Bargain. 😀👍🏼

Delayed reaction here but I'm at work so don't tell anyone! Great workshop tips and hints, you are so methodical with things. Must say, I gasped as you went for the angle drill freehand! I know how hard that is to get uniformity. Great idea from Jane regarding the mesh, nothing worse than swimming in rodent infested waters......well there is one thing of course, the Great brown shark so familiar in British waters. The guest room looks like hotel perfection! Anyway mate. Good job well done G

Cheers mate. As I was doing it I was thinking I'm sure that Budo would be doing this 50 times better than me with all the correct angles etc. I was trying to think of a jig I could make to get the angle uniform on the pegs. If I'd had a bit more time I could have done it better. Speak soon. 👍🏼

Nice job on the Strimmer (Weed Eater we call them here) Colin, you did pretty well getting those pegs at mostly the right angles free hand on the the tool rack, how on earth did you anchor the thread rod into the wall?? lovely guest room mate, another great episode, many thanks Cameron & Marie Laure
@FrenchCountrysideLife2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Cameron & Marie Laure. I think it was more luck than judgement getting the angles mostly right. 😀. I put the threaded rod right through the wall and put a nut and washer on the other side. I did film that but when I came to edit it I couldn't find those shots. 🤔 Thanks for watching.
