Hello I have a question, whenever I use any type of braiding gel (shine and Jam, Murray’s edge wax) my hair becomes greasy & puffy instead of slick. Is there anything I can try to prevent that from happening?

I just means you have high porosity hair. It's quickly soaking up any water in the products. You will want to use products that have less water content in them like the red shine n jam or neat braid.

i had this same problem. couldn’t find a gel that actually held and everyone SWORE by shine n jam magic fingers but it!!! was terrible for me. i really really really recommend allday locs gel. I got the loc gel on accident but they do have a braiding gel too. however, the loc gel worked really really well for my jumbo knotless braids!

I used to wear french curl braids back in 2002. Those ladies back then, Jamaican and African braiders could braid that silky hair without edge control and the knots never got in the way of brushing it out. And however tight they braided, I never loss my edges. I prefer the knot because I can unknot and refresh the hair line as needed.

I ran to this comment section as soon as I finished my daughters hair. Your method is the truth! It's saves me so much time and effort. I tried to use that French curl hair without braiding hair, and it was a tangled nightmare. Once I add the braiding hair It was game on! You have found a new subscriber for sure.
