French Defence Minister Sebastien Lecornu inspects Tri-Services guard of honour at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in the presence of his Indian Counterpart Rajnath Singh on November 28. Lecornu is on a two-day visit to India. Lecornu’s visit comes at a time when France is offering more Rafale fighter jets to the Indian Air Force (IAF) at a reduced cost than before.

India must ask France to transfer technology to Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd to manufacture Raphael in India under licence from Dassault Aviation. Or else India must switch over to Sukhoi 35 and even new generation Sukhoi 57 and obtain license from Russia to manufacture the same in India at Hindustan Aeronautics facility.

@@JD_Rockets Our Atmanirbhar Tejas Light Combat Aircraft Project started few decades back when I was a very young man and now I am nearing 60. Our best example of atmanirbhar is from January to September India's imports from China is to the tune of 90 Billion US dollars and India's export to China is to the tune of 13 billion US dollars. Another example is that the Wheel and axle assembly of Bandebharat express coaches are imported from China.

@@JD_Rockets My late father had worked in Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd for many years and has contributed immensely in the development of lots of Aircrafts. Unfortunately I am not an aeronautical engineer so I could not contribute. I have contributed in my field of work which is earthmoving and construction equipment.
