मेरी यूनिट से RR मे एक -एक बंदा नम्बर वन गया था जिसका आचरण अच्छा था और अनुभवी था जिसमें मै भी एक था ओ पी पवन (IPKF) हम सभी 2RR में 1990 November मे गये थे 40 महीने काट कर आया था (Jat Regt)

Dedicated force for COIN (counter insurgency) to be raised by merging RR/ Assam Rifles/COBRA battalions of CRPF which can be supported by COIN forces from all states raised as per requirement of respective states with common training logistics and recruitment. All colonial forces now with states like Eastern Frontier Rifles (West Bengal) or Malabar Special Police (Kerala) to be part of this force and renamed as State Rifles erasing all colonial baggage

Every force has its own reason to operate. NSG is specifically meant for hostage situations..or operations inside cities .. para sf is mainly meant for operating behind enemy lines or for reconnaissance. RR was specifically meant for counter insurgency in Kashmir
