@@theodorvepper Look for Mosquito Dunks. Just read instructions, they don't need a lot to work. Put them in buckets around your property. Honestly, with that much standing water from neighbors, it might be an uphill battle. They would need to treat their standing water, as well. If you can get some bats to roost in yard, they eat up a ton. Or develop a dragonfly colony and they will pretty much wipe them out. All more work but ultimately will help more.

I live in Louisiana so the ground can take a lot of water just takes a few hours to absorb and in the meantime I have standing water. I was thinking of putting in the French drain in hopes that it will get rid of the standing water faster and just make my yard nicer. Because grass can't grow there anyway. I thought it would be fine for the water to sit in the drain and leach back into the ground underneath and beside...

My opinion, the grade should be fixed to prevent the squishiness as that's an indicator of too much rain water for the yard to take. Help the french drain by "slightly" grading to it. That squishiness renders an unusable portion of yard and that's not going anywhere for at least two days of full sunshine. I've dealt with it and know it well.

You really think a little vertical drain is going to take in the amount of water that goes through my client's yard I bet you just learned that on KZbin thanks for watching though

That's a surface drain... You actually have to pass a 16 hour knowledge test to do this stuff in my state, and Yes, I'm licensed.

That is a hybrid French drain there are two perforated pipes at the bottom one solid pipe up top to collect the bulk water through the little basins and the downspouts run through the same solid pipe all the way to a pump from there out to the street maybe you need to take your test again 😂

WHAT IS HAPPENING . IS THE GROUND IS TOO COMPACTED . WHICH MEAN THE GROUND CANNOT ACCEPT ANY WATER. AT ALL. IF YOU HAD PROPER DRAINAGE IN THE GROUND . THE WATER WOULD BE ABLE TO FLOW INTO THE UNDER WATER RESEVRES.

The problem here is that the clay does not allow the water to percolate therefore it just becomes a sponge in my clients backyard then it doesn't help that all the water from her neighbors comes towards her backyard so we route all the water on the ground to give it some place to go and from there the sump pump shoots it all to the front yard I will send you a link to show you thanks for watching

lol their electric bill plays for the neighbors water removal. It’s a good system to have a French drain, people just suck.

I get that you hear a little bit of squishiness but from looking at this video you have to see all that water that's from her neighbors against the fence is flowing through her yard and instead of it sitting in her yard it's going down into the French drain and we're shooting it all the way out to the street when this client first called me 3 years ago water would sit in that back area as if there was a pool and then the water would run and back up towards the house I'm not trying to do too much editing and want to show you guys raw footage of the systems in action

Yeah but in a couple of hrs. The neighbors yard will be back to normal and " your clients" yard will still have holes & plastic covers in it & look like shite. Not to mention they will be out the $10,000 you charged them to dig holes in their yard.

And that is how you screw up the environment without meaning to because the water isn’t going to seep into the ground and recharge the aquifer, instead it’s just gonna go straight into the storm drain and be lost.
@samsfrenchdrains Жыл бұрын
If you're looking at this video correctly the water is seeping down and going straight to the lift station where the sump pump takes it to the front yard thanks for watching though
