using a pressure washer and a Sewer Jetter Kit (from Amazon) to clean a French drain. Much easier than the roto tiller method and doesn't destroy the pipe. Won't clear roots, but for simple clogs this is much easier and cheaper.

So I've only used this pressure washer one time. kzbin.infoUgkxfQauTxLT0JLSvqkq10rD79TU4k0Vz8zP The one time I used it, it worked great. I recently had new siding installed but kept the old gutters and small areas surrounding my house that weren't replaced so they looked horrible and dirty because of the new siding. I needed to get it cleaned asap. When I used the pressure washer, man it just melted all the dirt and grime that was on those areas of my house. I used that krud kutter soap and it was over after that. Easy to assemble, feels durable, very simple to use. Also, I purchased a used one to save money and there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I want to get more use out of it so I think I'll be washing the cars and update this comment as time goes on.

And remember little machine with low gallons per min equals slow cleaning but it will do the job. When I use my gas-powered unit at 3800pis I think at max my unit is 4 or 4.5 gallons a minute. I go through much faster than my small snap-on the electric unit.

Thinkin of pickin one up hav a prob at the house would lik the 100 foot one dont know if thats too long
@554LH

With the pressure I had, 100 was beyond the reach of washer. I could only go in about 80 feet and the the weight of the hose stopped motion. But that 80 feet really did clean.

I'm a drainage engineer right, people who are buying this need to realize how dangerous this actually is. The "jet" on th e end of the pipe shouldn't be switched on when held outside of the pipe in your own hand. I advise that you look up water jetting injuries. At whatever pressure the water is put under it is still going through a pin sized hole and can cause serious, even life threatening injuries. Especially through mini jets like these. If the water is coming out of the end of the jet at 1000 psi that is equal to 110 miles per hour. And debris coming out of that pipe could be travelling at what you would say is an Unbelievable speed. These "home jetting" videos are great and all but people need to realise that it's a job which is best left to a professional

There's a video of a guy using a high pressure water cutter I believe it's at 4000 psi and he sliced his fingers off.

any idea if this would cut through small tree roots?
@554LH
@554LH Жыл бұрын
I can’t be certain but my guess is no. The jet is strong but cutting roots seems unlikely. The dirt would be removed so some benefit.

Your problem is the corrugated pipe. I replaced mine with Sch 40 PVC 20 years ago and it's been clear ever since.
@554LH
@554LH 3 жыл бұрын
I think you are correct. The corrugated pipe will continue to catch silt and eventually clog up. I can see a pipe replacement video in my future, lol.

@@554LH Your second problem with that line is that it is emptying out into the mud hole next to your sidewalk and probably blocking the flow.

Sir my pressure washer is 135 bar can it be used for 150 feet long pipe for cleaning my choked sewage line please help?
@554LH
@554LH 3 жыл бұрын
I believe your pressure is good. The problem would be forcing a tube that far. That is the tube is too flexible to push so far. The nozzle will help draw in the tube but the weight of the tube becomes too great at some point. So I don’t think you can wash more than about 90 feet. I did not show this in the Video, but I dug an access hole, cut the tube, and continued up from the 80 foot point to the end. Then spliced the tube back together.

@@robinpanwar5881 if its a straight shot you could use a flat steel drain snake to add some strength to go further. I used 1/2 inch conduit and just taped the nozzle end to it and just added more sections as I went.

Great video! Would you advise if I could clear my gutter down spout by putting the jetter kit into the gutter from the patio on 2nd level for the debris to run down to the ground level ? Or, it has to be from the ground up? Does it matter what type of hose, connector if my pump is a M22 15mm? Thank you.
@554LH
@554LH 3 жыл бұрын
I can’t answer on the connectors, I didn’t know there were multiple types of quick connectors. But I certainly believe top down would work fine for cleaning. I also used this in a walk in shower drain (form the top and it worked great).

if you had a very long drain, how many of these could you connect before it was not effective?

I was only able to go about 70 feet even though I had 100 feet of hose. The pressure of the nozzle pulls the hose into the pipe but at a certain point the weight of the hose is too great to pull further. Hope that helps.

You would need a higher GPM rating on the pressure washer. A larger gasoline powered one would work better for that.

The M22 adapter has two sizes, a 14mm internal diameter or 15mm internal diameter. You can measure the diameter of the inside and buy the correct adapter. Most kits come with the 14mm internal size, however some pressure washers are 15mm. Its a common problem and can be easily fixed by getting the correct size or an adapter.
