I am long ago retired now but what fun it is to watch your videos and dream about picking out a new horn again. Keep up the good work.

My son decently played a Dieter Otto 180K for a week and the moment you started playing on this video I immediately recognized the same sound characteristics.

You have such a pleasant way of speaking, I could listen for hours.

Please give us a review of the almost unheard of Hoyer K10. No one else on KZbin has said anything about it. All we know, basically, is that Markus Wittgens and Juan Berrios play this model. Great to see this kind of video again. :)

Hi this is a more technical question but does anyone know if Yamaha mouthpieces have a combo taper like their horns do?

I was one of the idiots who bought an 871 with lacquer but I have been thinking about having it delacquered for better response, is this something you see/recommend?

Lacquer shouldn't affect the tone. I'm a trombonist so I can't tell about the horn, but everyone I know who plays the trombone says it won't affect the tone, regardless of any types of lacquer

@@Sam-nb1rm I've stripped the lacquer from seven different horns, and every one was different after. I suspect other brasses notice might less difference because their instruments are typically made with thicker brass, therefore lacquer is a smaller percentage of the overall mass.

@@clintow good point! Thanks for that information. Yeah lacquer could be more important for the horn than I might have expected
