Enjoyed both your 761/871 videos. Would be nice to hear you play this horn in the same place as you played the 671, or play these two horns back to back in the same location.

Thank you for the thoughts! I have not done a video review in a long time. Unfortunately my focuses have been targeted elsewhere for the time being. Hopefully one day I’ll come back to making some videos.

Interesting to hear you say that the throat of the 871 is larger than the 671. Yamaha lists them both as Medium.

My guess is the 871 uses a bell ring that is easier to switch out with other bells to be more customisable

I had this horn for a couple days and would like to opine if possible. There are major flaws with this horn. The "thwack" sound that the change valve makes is horrible. If you don't know what I'm talking about, when you slur notes over the 2 sides of the horn, it makes a loud sound that is extremely distruptive in the low range. That alone puts in the student level category. The horn is not well made, slides are not aligned, the valves feel terrible and are noisy. With the almost $9,000 pricetag, it's an overpriced student level instrument.

1. CHANGE valve - not EXchange. 2. You might consider putting GEYER in the title of your video since you REFER to your GEYER videos in subsequent videos. IJS...

Jay J Thank you for the input, I try to keep my titles simple, just the model name works fine. Change/exchange valve, doesn’t matter to me. I am sure viewers understand regardless of which term I use. (I have seen both used before.) The goal of my videos is to provide brief and comprehensive overviews about different horns, along with as simple of an explanation of how they work. If I have an original Geyer horn, I will be sure to put the name Geyer in the title. Thank you for your thoughts :)
