Do you mean tested like when the French bomb some camels in the desert. Ukraine Airforce was destroyed within hours so the Russians could not test the the planes against flying opponent but Ukraine inherited a shitload of air defense systems, no Nato country could claim a better anti air protection, so the russian planes are being tested every day.

@@MartinMaarva How can the Ukranian airforce have been destroyed "within hours". When that same airforce has contested the Ukranian airspace for a year plus.
@MartinMaarva
@MartinMaarva Жыл бұрын
@@williamalfonso1373 About 60 to 70% were destroyed within minutes. It is a large country with many airports and many other repair and maintenance facilities. They had hundreds of planes, even more older airframes, a lot of spares and also some donations from abroad. The surviving and repaired rest is being hunted as soon as airborne. Ukrainian airforce was not contesting anything, especially not any airspace over Ukraine. The air defence is but another story, Ukrainians inherited shitloads of air defences from Soviet Union. You can put together anti air capabilities of France, UK and Germany together, multiply it by ten and it still would be a far cry from what Ukraine had. You can also add several thousands of handheld missiles donated to Ukraine. That is the force that keeps the Ukrainian skies relatively clear. The issue is that these defences are mostly depleted now, Russians are picking them apart one by one and soon there will be none left.

Not 'perfect' for the long range interdiction role, because of the 'short' range of the MICA Missile(~80km), but it can do CAS, bombing,.. quite well and the Mica is still of use for some 'potshots' when you actually ancounter an other russian flying deep under the radar like you do yourselfs. So: NO substitute for a F-16/18 with AIM-120D or a Gripen/Eurofighter with Meteor, but still a worhwhile beginning!
@sidharth7522
@sidharth7522 Жыл бұрын
Mica is short range? Stop talking out of your ass. It’s more than enough to engage the Russians and F16’s. Mirage 2000 is way too powerful for F16s. They’re not great for CAS. They’re mostly useful for interception, their delta wings make it a world class dog fighter. Couple that with laser guided ground attacks, the do real well in stand-off missions.
@crazyjarjar4894

I agree that this is a start, but saying F16/F18 or a Gripen/Eurofighter would be the best, that would greatly depend which block version that will be sent. Because if the ones sent are from storage, then it would be some old planes, which would not be ideal. And I doubt any country would send their latest planes for multiple reasons

In the 70s we saw them fly over on a regular basis, going through the sound barrier, we didn't have yet a sound barrier break law. It was a magnificent sight to see these, you could easily see that they were mirages. Because of the distincter shape. Ukraine needs aircraft that employ long-range air-to-air, air-to-ground, and air-to-ship armaments. Mirages are comparable to Mig-29 UAF in terms of capabilities but might introduce maintenance challenges. On the other hand, Ukraine is short in air defenses, and even limited capability might help against missiles and drones as long as there is a lot of air-to-air missiles to spare.

There will be a lot of extreme low-altitude training for hit and run missions. However, it can guard the space, it can shoot down cruise missiles and drones, it can bomb... Well, God speed Ukis. PS tbh I think Ukr pilots performed better on Mirages than on F16 (some colonel from AF explained something about "muscle memory" and that pilot trained on soviet equipment gained certain "muscle memory" that can not be erased ever, meaning in some cases it will be better to train completely unexperienced pilot than to train ex-soviet pilot.

Famous IT businessman Kim Dotcom explained about Russia's operation in Ukraine using a simple example: "Imagine that Russia and China would pay the Nazis to overthrow the democratically elected government in Mexico in order to make it part of their military alliance and build a military base with nuclear missiles in Mexico. Now imagine Mexico attacking the White House with a drone."
