Merci Dylane for the wonderful and very detailed lesson. Perfect! One quick question: How does one distinguish between WARM and HOT in French? (as in a liquid, or the weather) Both seem to simply be CHAUD(E). Chaud(e) was in this lesson and prompted my question. Merci beaucoup.
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane3 жыл бұрын
It's the same word for everything 😉 Il fait chaud = weather (masculine only) Le café est chaud = food J'ai chaud = person Il est chaud = X Better not to use this because it can have a sexual meaning. I hope it helps 🙂 (I am just about to send you an email after answering comments)

I have trouble with French pronunciation because I don't understand the words where it seems like you're cutting them in half and not pronouncing the second half. I never know when the out-loud part ends and the silent part begins. Do you have a video for that?

Please can I ask you is there anything that can help remember the lessons because for some unknown reasons, the information doesn't seem to stay in my head. Secondly what do you mean by the grammar terms.
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane Жыл бұрын
Honestly it all depends on how you learn best. It's different for every person. Grammar terms are adjectives, verb, etc

So im a bit confused, when you talked about the 7 types of è, for some of the types like ê and ë when you prounounced it during the begining of the section you prounced in a wierd way. For example, when you said ë , I dont know how to write it in french but from my ears I could hear it as euh en son tres ma which is really long and didnt make sense

I love the teaching but my problem is the pronunciation of: ai , es because some French speakers pronounce them as "é". Please help me
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane4 жыл бұрын
Oh Richard! I understand why you are confused! There are a lot of different pronunciations, even in France! However, the correct pronunciation is as followed : - AI is pronounced É at the end of verbs conjugated in futur simple - AI is pronounced È at the end of nouns (balai) - ES is supposed to be pronounced È This is for the IPA (phonetic alphabet), however, some people pronounced them differently. If you want I have a free pronunciation course starting December 1st on this channel. I will explain everything about É and È :D

Braj you can ask me whatever question you don't understand, I try to answer comments every day :) TU AS doesn't have an elision in written French but in spoken and informal French it does. This is just one of the rule ;)

Why do I hear clear "a" when you say "un"? There should be nasal "ɛ" which I cannot catch and confuse with nasal "a" constantly, since they sound almost the same to me. The article "un" itself is such a nightmare to pronounce. Is there anything to relieve it?

French is wierd Language Why don’t pronounce the last letter?

Because the last letter is like a super hero, it activates the pronunciation of the letter before. (This explanation works really well with children lol)
