French Quarter RV Resort is located just steps from the French Quarter. We were able to walk to all the spots (Cafe du Monde, Bourbon Street, Willie Mae's, Dooky Chase, and even a Whole Foods). The resort is super safe with a large wall, and a gate for vehicles and a gate for pedestrians. It was a little loud for some -- you are in the city. But it wasn't an issue for us, especially since most of our time was spent exploring rather than in the RV. Oh and FREE ICE!

This is amazing! no clue that you could camp here in the city. We love coming to New Orleans and doing some party stuff on Bourbon Street. Thanks for the super-secret share!

We have learned the term "RV Resort" does not always mean the same thing to everyone. Thanks for sharing this review.

Haha, right? RV Parks just make up names for themselves.

Wow that is just by the freeway. But it is walking distance to things. Did you feel it was safe?

I felt totally safe. It's surrounded by a huge brick wall. And sure, you have to be careful when walking around (especially in the dark) always -- but we never felt unsafe in New Orleans.

I was gonna stay there in my RV for a week or so but I called and they was way to expensive. They might as well call the park pick pockets RV resort.

We stayed during the off season, so it was really affordable. Also, some of the spots are privately owned but can be rented out. I'm wonder if the owners have a say in the price.

I love camping and I love New Orleans, but camping in a parking lot in the middle of the ghetto doesn't sound appealing to me. I've heard nothing but terrible things about this place, and I certainly wouldn't recommend walking to or from here after dark.

That wasn't our experience at all. The campground is very secure, has 24/7 security patrols. New Orleans is like any city. You need to keep an eye out, be safe, be aware of surroundings, etc. That part of New Orleans was no worse than when I lived in downtown Detroit, downtown Seattle, or the crack house that was next door to my current house (before the city took it over). So, 🤷‍♀️

@@SolesTraveling Glad you enjoyed it. Just not for me. Also, I don't vacation in downtown Detroit, downtown Seattle or next door to crack houses either. But next time you're at the French Quarter RV Park (which isn't actually in the French Quarter by the way), Uber (don't walk) down the street to Kermit's Mother in Law Lounge. Especially if it's a Sunday or Tuesday night and Kermit's band is playing.
