@@RealWorldTravelGuide halfway through and really loving the visuals on the narration but the music is so irritating with that awful beat that sounds like slapping a piece of plastic . Perhaps next time music without a drum beat if that is possible ? Too many nowadays use the electronic synthesize drumbeat which sounds terrible ... lacks resonance , lacks richness , lacks depth ... and yet there are wonderful drum sounds from Africa and India and around those parts of the world which are so lovely to the ear

I live in Saint Raphaël, which is in the middle of Côte d'Azur, between Cannes and St Tropez, it is my favourite, there's a fantastic Golf club 5 minutes from the town centre, it has beautiful beaches, great restaurants, entertainment parks and nature all around. Fréjus/St Raphaël are two towns in one with around 100 000 inhabitants.

Seems you are of French origin:-))) .France is as beautiful like many other countries in Europe and also North America. Not only the Cote was visited by famous ancient people .But also Italy which is as beautiful or Greece . There is no doubt that the Cote is one if the most beautiful places in Europe. But there are also many others to find here. Think it's also a matter of what you prefer. Germany has the most beautiful Northern beaches and islands in the Northsea . Swiss Alpes , Bavarian or Austrian Alpes as so beautiful as well...

In France access to beaches is always free all year round except for safety reasons. Only facilities such as mattress rentals are closed in winter.
@sophiewanlin86122 жыл бұрын
That's totaly false and very misleading ! In France, you have the law about the seaside (la loi littoral) but you have to pay for some rare beaches' entrance decided by... the mayor himself and the fees are taken by the local civil servant. And the authorities, such as the prefect, didn't say anything about that. Examples ? The municipal beach of Saint-Jorioz (French district number 74) where you have to pay 2.60 euros (2021 price) for the entrance. Or another beach, Bourget-du-Lac for instance. Of course, if you want to rent a mattress, you have to give more bucks... The fact that's in practice very rare and accepted by the police (or I'd better say by the local prosecutor) doesn't mean that you can go, put your beach towel on the sand for free everywhere, at anytime of the year. Especially in summer.
@markriobr2 жыл бұрын
Know Cote d´Azur all so well, spend many summers during my life over there especially at St Tropez. Been very lucky from the start, have a who has a beach on the strip where everybody goes, Pampelonne beach is where the famous private kind of beaches are. These beaches all have restaurants and bar open for everybody eat,drink but to stay people have to pay for beach mattresses and umbrella. The village is beautiful, see the sunset having a drink on the port ,,uau. The night life is intense and fun, people have dinner kind of late after 10 PM restaurants are full. Along the years I was considered a local, knew everybody and never stayed on line to get in the night clubs. Sure been the entire coast, would go to Nice where a real good friend has a restaurant, we had dinner and after go hit the Cassino at Monaco.

For many Centuries Nizza (Nice in French) and the Eastern part of the so called Cote d'Azur belonged to Piedmont (Duchy of Savoy until 1720, than Kingdom of Sardinia). In 1860 Nizza and the region were given to France, together with the region of Savoy in exchange of the military help in 1859 war against Austria that was the first step of the building of the Italian Kingdom (born in 1861; first capital Turin). France changed the names of towns and villages to make 'em more... French sounding: Mentone became Menton, Eza Eze, Nizza Nice and so on.

You have forgotten one if the most beautiful places on the Cote. It's the village near Route National shortly after Lavandou. It's a real beautiful place on the top of a small mountain .Therefore you also have forgotten it's beaches like Estrel or the beach right beneath Fort Bregacon which is the common place of vacation of the french presidents. Think these are places which should have been visited because they are the most beautiful of all the beauties of the Cote.

C'est une présentation tronquée de la région, il n'y a pas que les villes de bord de mer (heureusement). N'hésitez pas à louer une voiture et à visiter l'arrière pays. C'est beaucoup plus calme et il y a moins de touristes. It's a truncated presentation of the region, it's not just the seaside towns (fortunately). Do not hesitate to rent a car and visit the hinterland. It's much quieter and there are fewer tourists.
@leolight53692 жыл бұрын
C'est pas tronqué. La Côte d'Azur c'est la bande littorale. L'arrière pays (affectivement magnifique) n'est pas la Côte d'Azur.

@JustMe-hf3wt2 жыл бұрын
I fell in love with Menton and I am planning on purchasing a place there because of the good prices. Being originally from Montreal Canada I speak French very well so I do not have that language barrier plus it is also 2 minutes away from the Italian border which is a bonus. Only you could answer your own question for it depends on what you like and what you are looking for and your budget. There is something for everyone and everyone I know has fallen in love with a different place on the French Riviera. You have to rent for two to three seasons in different areas before you can really commit. Remember that most of the French Riviera in winter is not Miami weather but rather cold and in some areas also wet like the fall weather in Montreal/ New York.
