I really love this organ (the big one). The Chamade and 32´ Posaune in such an "small" German baroque organ are really great. Best wishes from North Germany

Számomra - korhű régi zenéket kedvelő számára - lenyűgöző ez a tiszta, francia barokk stílusú földolgozás és előadás! Különösen tetszik, hogy mentes a XX. századi "elmeháborodott" zenei stíluselemek mindegyikétől, így szépségén túl megnyugtató is, amire szükség van a mostani Covid19 veszélyes időszakban!

My compliments for this improvisation. The tune however is not of a Genevan Psalm, but of a easter hymn of the Bohemian brethren 'Mit Freuden zart'. This is a parody of the tune of Genevan Psalm 138, which is a parody of a french secular song 'une pastourelle gentille'. Via the Bohemian brethren, the tune became common in lutheran churches.

This is perfectly played und sung. The 32' reed stop is amazing, I never heard such a perfectly voiced organ. With the 32' stop drawn, you can hear perfectly all the other stops drawn. I enjoyed that with an open mouth!

My favourite organ by far. I get my camera shaking reeds!!! Pretty amazing. Well sung, and most impressively improvised Balint. I enjoyed your registration. Clean, delicate and powerful where it all mattered. I am both very pleased and privileged to have been able to watch and listen to this video. Thanks for making it and sharing it.

This melodie on Psalm 138 sounds different, when I compare it with original Genevan Psalm 138. Like Claude Goudimel. In the Reformed churches in the Netherlands we sing each sunday the Psalm melodies from the Genevan Psalter book.

All the variations, if that is the correct term, were very interesting (#1 seemed particularly complex) and the repetitive patterns in the left hand, then pedal, of #2 and 3 were increasingly intriguing. But your final movement was just beautiful!

Thank you very much for this beautiful music! Nice to hear this amazing improvisation on the 138th Genevan Psalm. In our Dutch reformed churches, we sing these Psalm melodies en texts every church service, so it's nice to recognise the tune. Would you like it to place more Psalm improvisations on KZbin? Who is the builder of the small organ (kistorgel)? Greetings from Holland

Which Genevan Psalm is this?
@karlrovey4 жыл бұрын
The tune is MIT FREUDEN ZART which was used in the Genevan Psalter (texts and tunes aren't really paired, you match them based on the meter of the text and tune). The text used here isn't from the psalms. Instead, it is a Lutheran hymn for Easter. The original text is by Georg Vetter (1536-1599) and was translated by Martin Franzmann (1907-1976).
@erikbogerd78644 жыл бұрын
@@karlrovey Interesting! It reminds me of the melody of psalm 138 of the Genevan Psalter, so I think that must be the psalm that uses this melody. It is not entirely the same though
@bkarosi4 жыл бұрын
Melody is composed by Guillaume Franc in 1543 for Psalm 138. It was adopted by the Bohemian Brethren and fitted with German text by Georg Vetter in 1566. Translated to English by Martin Franzmann (1907-1976).

@@karlrovey Thanks a lot; I was sure I knew the tune but I couldn't remember any words, let alone the title in the Evangelisches Gesangbuch [now I found out it's no. 108 there and I had played it years ago; regrettably, worship pop rock is played much more in my home church than old hymns are, and it's more popular than the old hymns, too, and WHEN hymns are sung, it's always the same ca. 5 numbers, like, for instance "Lobet den Herren, den mächtigen König der Ehren", which is not a bad hymn, but the narrow choice just makes my job unnecessarily boring...].

More german than french style improvisation, you'll never find that kind of pedal part in french baroque music
