We had the privilege of hearing Balint Karosi at an all Bach concert at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Austin, Texas a few years ago and now we have the thrill of following him on KZbin as he plays organs all around the world. The technology is a great gift to music lovers.

I am so glad I came across this video. I grew up with the Genevan psalms every Sunday in church. I love those melodies. Living in Canada for the last 60 years sometimes I hear Dutch organists doing improvisation on these tunes. Let me assure you no body improvises like you do. Perhaps Sietse Devries comes close. All others are very bombastic I find. Your talent is great. May God bless you.

As minister, and later choirmaster in Vermont, I used many Geneva Psalter seletions as both congregational hymns and choir anthems -- at first, strange to them, but soon they warmed to the sturdy tunes and harmonies. Thanks for the strength of your masterful interpretations: a source of hope for these difficult times!!!

Superb - we have an up-coming Sietze de Vries here! This is the kind of improvisation of which Michel Chapuis was the supreme master.
@MarcelMangnus4 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. Sietze de Vries is the undisputed master of baroque-improvisation for many, many years now. His improvisations are all at the level of perfectly written down compositions. But Balint comes close and that is already a big achievement! And with the years (and experience) to come, he will only be better in mastering the art of improvisation. I'm a fan!
