I loved this video!! and this couple! Krista made me cry when she said that now shes living life happily. Isnt it wonderful to be able to acknowledge that right now we are where we prayed we'd be, 10 years ago? I think its beautiful in a world where ppl are never happy and always want more. And Im so happy she got to come back home where she belongs. Its amazing that she met a wonderful man like Vincent who was able to fuel her dream of coming back to Thailand. Their unique upbringings is actually helping them thrive. Krista can deal with the thai part of the resort like making the employees feel like family but also being able to communicate her expectations and Vincent can understand the foreigners mindsets, to know what food and entertainment theyd find enjoyable and memorable. I wish them tons of happiness and success in life. Also, their son is so handsome :) looks like a great kid!

Oh yes that part was so emotional. I had a hard time understanding at first why Krista didn't return to Thailand the moment she became an adult, but then I realized, she had no means, she has no choice. She felt there was no future for her in Thailand. So happy for her that she found Vincent and that he happened to fall in love with Thailand too. Game changer.

I’m Thai but grew up in Cali. After I started a small business here I experienced the same cultural and work ethic discrepancies too. Yes management is very important anywhere, but what is most important is to be humble enough to LEARN from each other. Even on the point of being cheated. I’ve observed in Thailand most people Think In the NOW and what we (cuz I’m Thai too) can have in my hand today is more tangible than what we can expect in the future which is never for sure. so just live life for today. This is why I think everyone is so SABUY SABUY. So even written contracts are less meaningful than abroad since ENFORCEMENT is up to WHO you know more that WHAT you know. Anyways just wanted to share that I relate to your story.

In my experience foreign people can rely on thais to steal from them. Tools. Materials . Money. Replacement tool. In fact everything that can be moved. But, they do it with a smile and a warm heart. They dont feel they are cheating you. Just taking what they think you can always replace. Your wife. Your builder. His helpers. Nothing is cheap in thailand. Your builder expects you to buy tge tools he needs as well as excess materials. Naturally he keeps anythingleft, including tools and machines. Its cheaper to go to a big company and get a price from which theres no change , machines materials etc, at the end of the job.. Dont expect thieving to stop. It wont. Just price it in to your life and bank account.
