This song reminds me of how much of a rush life is, everything just has to go fast if you wanna get somewhere in life or that's what we see on a daily basis atleast. Gotta work fast, study hard, and all of that just to get old and have no use for all the hard work in the end anyways, we see people rushing for trains, getting annoyed in traffic jams. All because that's what society requires of us and it's pretty sad. Modern society wants us to rush our lives giving us little to no time to actually enjoy it.

A few weeks ago. Woke up in my tent at first light, in the mountains of central France. Striked camp and got back into my car to continue the trip. Turned on the music. Colors exploded under the sunrise, towers of volcanic rocks glittering above trees. French 79. Perfect moment.

I heard this for the first time when me and my girlfriend went to Paris last year. We got back from the city, left the lights off and I stepped on the balcony with a cigarette, looking over the peaceful city glowing at night, just barely seeing the Effiel tower above the roofs of tall black apartments. Smelling the smoke mixed with the cold night air. She turned the song on her speaker and came to me to tell me how beautiful the view is and how happy she is to be here with me. An amazing moment in my life, I hope to never forget.

Maybe a little late but damn i feel exactly like that! The tension when they waited for this... thing to happen again, not knowing if it ever will, and (at least it felt like that for me) also being a little ashamed of being so pleasently anticipating it and idk like sort of hiding it from the people around them and feeling sort of special that it happened to them allthough it happened to everybody or at least multiple persons but they don't know because they didn't tell anyone because they were afraid it would destroy that special feeling they got from it. And then it _did_ come back, and they were so lost in their own fullfilment and joyfulness. I don't even know whether anything was meant like I experienced it but it definitely created a feeling, a really strong feeling or atmosphere or whatever without saying anything and that made it very special and intense

The future and the past are really confusing But I keep my feet on the ground to keep trying I don't wanna change my life Why did you go back in time? I feel like a child Wearing this goddamn crown Why do I need to play with my mind? (Edit: these lyrics were officially given by French 79's distributer Alter K to Apple Music so we know they are correct. Seems like the lyrics sites just guessed the words. Every time the lights are turning down Then I try to close my eyes to see my hometown I don’t want to change my life I need to go back in time I feel like a child Wearing this golden crown Why do I need to play with my mind? The future and the past are really confusing But I keep my feet on the ground to keep dreaming I don’t want to change my life I need to go back in time I feel like a child Wearing this golden crown Why do I need to play with my mind?

I love how they are all cautious and have a childlike curiosity about what’s going on slightly worried the first time. It’s something that surprised them from their normal lives. Their way of thought has changed now. Their normal lives are missing excitement. They now look for the action again but don’t find it for a while. The action takes on their life and they think about it while going through their normal lives. They search for something like it nonstop effecting others around them. And finally they find a blissful surrender when they find what they are looking for. They feel connected to something bigger. They are now more...

I don't know why, but the concept expressed in the video (at least in the way I interpret it) is fascinating: an eldritch being or entity that uses light and technology to communicate to individuals that have nothing in their lives or are otherwise bored, all giving them meaning through the light and a purpose: "follow the signal"

unfamiliar, uncanny feeling that i get sometimes...future is almost past, you are almost gone and what you're hearing right now is a product of a unique state of mind which has already faded away and will never come back. spontaneous but somehow infinite.

This song and its music video are so beautiful together. It touches on something very human without explicitly articulating it. It's something about how we search for things we're in love with or missing in our lives.

It blows my mind how well this video is filmed, edited, and choreographed to the beat of the music. EXCELLENT job by the director and his team! It's hard to believe that the song is just as good. All around, a phenomenal music video. One of the very best of its kind since Michel Gondry's video for Star Guitar.

This video has rapidly become an all time favourite. The song and music are already so evocative, and the video just hints at a deeper unspoken truth of what fascinates us all. 10/10, a true masterpiece, this video has literally moved me to tears thinking about the metaphorical relation to all of our lives.
@wholebodysneeze Жыл бұрын
To me this song & video is about the patterns we see all around us, that we attribute to an existence bigger than ourselves. It is as though our own inner dimensions determine the forms that are most meaningful. In that communication we find a purpose that cannot exist simply by being.

Here is how I found this song: A couple of years ago(2020) I asked my dad if I could listen to music in my room. He was very strict about me being on my phone in bed. Well, I decided to sneak my phone in off of the shelf on the other side of the room to watch some KZbin or look for other music. This had popped up in my home page and I listened to it once. Long story short I was caught but totally worth it.
