Thanks for all you video's they're really great. How far away from the house do you put the catch basin?

My opinion on this has definitely changed over the years. Close.....like 5 ft from the downspout. We use to put it mid way for access in the event of a clog. Shingle gravel drops of the roof and collects in the line immediately. With our Vented Cleanout you can run a hose up to a catch basin 5ft away pretty easily. All the gravel will pile up in the basin.

From your other videos it sounds like the shingle granulars don't get stuck in the corrugated pipes and if there's no trees around nothing would get past your leaf vent. The catch basin is for cleaning out but what needs to get cleaned out?

Do you ever do a French drain in the drainage swale on new construction like this? Seems like it would be easier to install also. Before Landscaping that is installed that causes drainage issues

I can't recommend that. Based on what I've seen in 35 years of tear out of old systems tree roots are the leading causes along with no in line catch basins. Just vent your catch basin in the winter and don't worry about it freezing if you have solid pipe the whole way. We have some new products early summer, mid summer release and fall. 8 new products in total for 2023. All I can say is stay tuned for updates. Thanks for watching 👍
