I have a small plumbing company and I purchased an sk-800. I’ve had it since 2022. I use it to trench gas lines and water lines and move my trailers around in the shop. The only time I wish I had a bigger one is when I need to move dirt. If there is a lot, it takes me a long time with the little bucket. Other than that, it has made our job so much easier.

The large buckets that we use solve that problem. What are known as light material buckets, which were intended for moving bark mulch, are plenty strong enough for dirt and move a mountain of dirt fast.

Thank you SO much for making these posts absolutely so helpful ......stellar ! I am in the midst of purchasing an SK 800 with the weight kit and 1/2 yard bucket as well as the stock 42" bucket and forks, this size will work perfect in conjunction with my JD 17G in my operations. I have done so much research however the REAL help in making my decision is from watching the KZbins of yours and a few others. I have no idea why but up here in Canada ( west coast Victoria BC) the costs are way more even after exchange rates, duties etc so it was really helpful to make this big financial decision. Thanks once again Myles

You made my decision harder!! I was pushing myself to get the 1550 over the 1050 because of price and weight and everything.. now I want the 3000. The main thing that turns me away at this point is the weight because right now I'm trying to stay lean with smaller equipment and if I got the 3000 I'd have to up my truck too..

Then run a sk1550 it gives a great ride over the 1050 because of additional track length

@@FRENCHDRAINMAN yeah I prob will but you just made the 3000 sound so good haha. Love your videos though. Keep it up!!

Well I’ve been waiting on my 1550 2 weeks past the day it was supposed to come in. And they are saying another week or two. I just want to start playing with it! And thank you for the videos because you turned me onto the ditch witches and I love them now.

Thanks for the great video! Would you ever recomend the sk600? It a little smaller and 4-5k cheaper then the sk800.
@FRENCHDRAINMAN4 жыл бұрын
I once owned a sk650. As long as it is the newer track design im sure it would get a lot of work done. Its a Entry level machine so you can't expect too much from it
@ethans73974 жыл бұрын
As someone who owns 5 Deere skid steers I can’t justify 65k for something like this. You can’t sit in it so your standing. That’s one thing. I have 2 1050s they are great. Best mini on the market. But anything bigger that that I can justify it.

The 3000 is good for an open yard landscaping , to work in confined and smaller areas the 1550 and below will and has done what is needed , id be in the 1050 chassis if i were to run ditch witch but most likely an older 800 would more than get you through , I run the Vermeer CTX 100 in 40hp only because its what has been available to me at that price point . These are amazing machines .

Do you have any complaints with Vermeer?
@thegumpfiles7782 жыл бұрын
@@FRENCHDRAINMAN NONE . works as it should . No break downs as of yet , replaced the tracks with an aftermarket set that i feel is a better set thats all . The bobcat tracks only last about 300-400 hours and these were no different .

I have an sk600 and an sk800. The sk752 became the sk800. The sk600 is great for 36” gates or tight corners. I plan to upgrade the sk800 to the sk1050 when I save up enough.

Thanks for setting them next to each other, very helpful, especially nowadays they don't have demos at the dealership. Why the fluid tanks on the sides ( Hydraulic and diesel) are so exposed?! I wish they cage them or go with another sheet of steel on the sides. just my opinion.
I still feel they are #1 unfortunately ever since Toro bought them it's been going to shit. Over a year wait for a machine when you order is unacceptable. Maybe Toro had a different motive in mind when they bought up Ditch Witch.

Would you still recommend the ditch witch over all others? Looking to get a 800 or 1050 for dirt grading work mainly using a bucket with teeth or cutting edge
