This is very cool. I'm an American, who has been coming to Romania for about 10 years, and who is also keenly interested in electric vehicles, solar power, energy storage, etc. Nearly 10 years ago I heard about Marc, and his work in Pitesti to convert Logans as electric cars, and I recall the big idea was to have electric Logans for use by taxi drivers since Logans are so commonly used as Taxi's in Romania. The title is "The Frenchman hoping to prove electric cars can take off in Romania’s taxicabs" I'm very happy to hear that the business is growing.

Oh my god, a frenchman having the romanian accent speaking english. Never thought I'd see that. As a Romanian living in the UK, I'd rather live here from a structural point of view. It has access to everything you need. But I believe this shift of locations is normal. At the end of the day the English got used to travelling, having nice cars and living this corporate life, while the Romanians got bored of living in nature and huge grey apartment blocks, struggling to buy that nice car they always dreamed about. After you get what you want, you get used to it and some change is necessary. The farmers will move to the city and the city will move to the farm.

interesting views..hmm the problem i see, is a perspective paradox, .. why poeple are proud in Romania, or they seem to be, you have to remember that we lived in comunism no longer than 30 years ago, the opresive nature of comunism , is embeded in our national being. and at evry litle sign of perceived opresion the typical romanian in its subconscient have a fear of opresion and wants to evade it. at least how i see it, i work for 17 years at the same company so it depends on each individual most romanians, if you are honest , not pasive-agresive, and they can speak to you freely, wont leave the company and most likely become a loyal employee and/friend. there are exceptions , called oportunists..

hey, french guy, congrats for what you've achieved so far, but you should choose your words more careful...."this is Romania, you know" is not something you should be proud of, just because you had a bad experience with your first collaborator - the proof is that now you have about 20 people hired that make you rich. Putting all people in the same bucket is a sign of nazism as you may know from history.

The man is a resident and is allowed to express his opinions. This moral relativism is what's regressing societies right now. I'm Romanian too and I know that elements of our culture are inferior to say Swiss culture or American culture. This doesn't mean i want to put Romanians in a concentration camp; taking something to the extreme and removing the humanity is what national socialists, islamists or communists do indeed. I agree that there's a fine line between racism&xenophobia and acknowledging the faults or shortcomings of a people's culture - but when we stop criticising that or equating it ( eg: "all people are the same. some are good, some are bad, whether it's Hamas or the Luxembourgese, who are we to judge?"), that's when our societies fall in disarray. This being said, Romania has changed for the better. I want to move back next year and my girlfriend is learning Romanian as we speak. It's partly because most of our criminals have left Romania and the country is now safer than most Western European countries.

I think we have like 1% tax on salvaged parts, so most all car salvage firms are legal today (not the same story a couple of years ago). I would say buisness is booming, you should look at the average age of the car park in RO, the density of cars / people in urban area, what kind of cars new /sh are sold here (hint, a lot of premium cars on SH market). Maybe also take in to account the economic prognoses for this country (seems to be positive).

as a builder, in romania , you won't have a shortage of well paid work, best advice is to work as a private contractor with his own team and offering a better service than romanian contractors, which is not hard to do, altough romanians do excellent work in construction jobs, they lack profesionalism in more superficial areas like overbooking and delaying clients due to an overabundance of servces needed in the field, so if you are more profesional , keep to your word, and do a good job , youll make the same ammount of money in construction in romania like in the west, theres even room to expand on the national levels if you play your cards right and have a little vision
@alex990ism
@alex990ism 9 ай бұрын
the same thing also aplies to mechanics, i dont know how developed is the restoration of old vehicles market , but as a classical mechanic, you will not have any shortage of work, especially if you are very good and professional. you could make a business out of restoring old vehicles , hiring cheap labor and hardware, but you must have a well established clientele already ,averege romanians ussualy try to spend theyr money wisely , buying a new second hand with 10 k rather than restored 3 series, but if you have clients outside the country, and market yourself really well in ro and outside, and gave a kot of passion and aproach it as a passion project and not a bread winner, i think youll do fine, but if you want a sure thing, a more profesional construction and mechanic aproach is a sure thing in ro
