Happy Groundhog Day Marie 😁 ✨ Ouais!!! Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler 🌇 ⚜️ 🍻 Where you were staying at looked pleasant & easy going. Those City Streets are always Buzzing , I like the 🆒 🖌️ Murals. It can be a bit pricey there , I guess they sometimes want to take advantage of Tourists. You deserve to treat yourself to the best yummy 🥞 fluffy 🍞 & ☕of Joe. I wanna try the Strawberry 🍌 flavor when I get over there. Is I Hop ever gonna open up in Europe? 😋 Wowzer !!! Happy Birthday to You 🎼 🎂 🎊 Lookin so Elegant I'm Glad you had a Good time , Danny's a perfect gentleman. The FT Fam was there in Spirit to Cheer along too 💞 The Hard Rock Cafe had some Amazing exhibits ( I hope it's all authentic) it was nice of them to let you look around. Stevie Wonder never gets enough credit for his Harmonica playing , there's a few more on display in the Grammy & Presidential Museum's. Did Old Blu eyes really wear those shiny boots. That George Clinton Shirt was wild , it's always super finding anything by Elvis , you probably know that King Creole was filmed there. Van Halen's 🎸 Rocked , Eddie a Legend , one of my favorite bands. I'm pleased Rush was playing too , it was meant to be frenchfry. It was lovely to hear about you meeting up with Isabelle again. Anyway would be lucky to have her as there french teacher 🎓 🇫🇷 Sorry about your Trolley 🚎 Trip , it's a good thing the Cops turned up in time but it would be Safer if they were back on the beat more often so Guys like that wouldn't pester you , Thankfully he was to out of it to try anything. Like I've said before don't stop practicing your Strikes , Blocks & Dropkicks , try to find a good teacher if you can , get a punch bag & carry some pepper spray. It's true Kindness & Patience only goes so far , you also need to be Street Smart. Hopefully Now it's all gonna turn around ( did you know the house speaker Mike Johnson from Louisiana) & people like that will finally be hold accountable for there actions & get the help they need. Like we've seen who you vote for has unfortunate consequences , How about keeping the criminals in jail for once. I hope everyone can put aside there differences & come together to make America Better Again. A walk in the Park is so soothing & tranquil , it's nice feeding the 🦆 there adorable. Some Creative Sculpture's , the Gondolas were a Surprise , how Romantic. I like it anytime you walk beside the River or flying your Drone. Looking forward to seeing how much more Louisiana has to offer , it's always exciting traveling along & seeing it all through your eyes. Merci beaucoup Marie have a wonderful rest of your weekend , The Hustler & The Color of Money both with Paul Newman ( Oscar winning performance) & Tom Cruise about shooting Pool are both worth watching. Check Out Jackie & Shadow New eggs 🦅 on Fobbv Cam & the Live 🐘 on Wild Earth , maybe some wild dogs will also show up. Take care , God Bless 😇 ❣️✌️

Happy belated birthday, dear Marie. Glad you were OK. You seem like such a gentle soul that I was surprised to hear you were ready to kick some ass, but I'm glad you have good street smarts and can defend yourself if need be. Even as a man there are places in most major cities that I wouldn't dare go, and I"m a pretty big guy. People on meth and other drugs are unpredictable and can easily become violent because they're basically out of their heads. One time in San Francisco I was walking down a street near Fisherman's Wharf and a homeless guy was quietly sitting with his back against a trash can. As I walked by he leaped up and lunged at me with incredible speed, getting right in my face, similar to what happened to you. I'll admit, I was so startled that it scared the heck out of me. You never know what their intentions or if they have a knife or other weapon. I've been much more carful ever since, always keeping my "head on a swivel" as they say.

Happy Birthday….yes. I have traveled all over and have had several incidents of not being comfortable. New Orleans…pretty cool but one must decide where to go. I don’t like super crowded places anywhere. I’m not talking about a city but just events, elbow to elbow. I will pass on that. I had a bad experience in a European city within a country I love. It was my fault in a way, I found out later it was called a no go zone. I did not know that. Very uncomfortable. Blessings. I have watched your videos. You have had some wonderful experiences and a slow, easy pace and southern states and the Midwest. Some of my favorite as well.

Beautifully done video Marie! I'm glad you met up with Isabel. I had watched the video you had with her, and she seemed very nice. She was probably thrilled, and very happy to have met up with you. I used to stay at the Holiday inn whenever I went to New Orleans back years ago. I have been on the Natchez and really enjoyed that paddle boat ride. I really love New Orleans. I think it is an awesome City. I think it's awesome that you and Danny are are big Rush fans. I think that was really cool they let you walk around the Hard Rock Cafe before it opened. It is unfortunate that all of our cities have many homeless people. Many are harmless. But many are potentially dangerous. I think you handled the the situation correctly. You were definitely ready to defend yourself. He probably sensed that you were not going to be an easy victim. But, that guy was probably not a typical predator. He was probably psychotic, and psychopaths are unpredictable. It is a blessing that he got on the trolley. At least the trolley was able to alert the Police. I hope the trolley driver didn't get hurt. That's awesome that your family was able to connect with you on your birthday, and that Danny was able to have a nice dinner and spend some time with you on your birthday. May God bless you, 🙏 and may you be having a wonderful time at home with your family and friends.❤

Bonjour Marie! It looks like you had a good birthday, and I'm glad. Some of the places in this video looked very interesting, I especially liked the sculpture park. As for the addicts and such...I'm a little surprised at your response. I've worked with addicts. Nobody sets out to become an addict. Addicts are missing out on life, and usually have missed many important life moments. I knew a guy who had a wife and a daughter and a good life, but lost it all due to addiction and wound up struggling to not be incarcerated for stealing to feed his addiction. He missed out on SO many moments in his daughter's life and she was pulling away from him (because he kept letting her down) which is sad for them both. Something that came up when working with these people is how others react towards them, and perhaps you could think about why you reacted the way that you did? Anyway, I hope that you are doing well, and as always I want the best for you and I love your channel. Bonne journee! ~Be Blessed

Happy belated birthday, Marie. As it turns out my birthday happens to be today. Go me! And yes…addiction is maddening. The freedom to make choices means the freedom to make stupid ones and that’s what you saw firsthand. I was a cop for many years and substance abuse-alcohol particularly-made the job far worse. Dealing with drunks was one of the chief reasons I ultimately left the profession and it felt great to leave that behind. As you noted, why do we have to put up with it all? Anyway, thank you for sharing more of what you’re thinking, even when it’s not all puppies and rainbows (i.e., the “good stuff.”) It makes you “real” and that’s just one of many reasons I come back again and again. If you rent the 2003 German movie "Schultze Gets the Blues" there's a scene where he's traveling down Louisiana bayous on a boat and stops outside a dance hall, where outside there's a guy wearing a cowboy hat having an animated conversation with someone off-screen in a very thick Cajun French. The movie is very slow-moving, but you might find it interesting. One scene was filmed in New Orlean's "Rock and Bowl" -- a venue for rock music and bowling on Carrolton Avenue.

I live in New Orleans, in the central business district right next to the French Quarter. I’ve lived in a lot of other cities in the US and overseas. I don’t feel any less safe here. In fact, generally I find the people to be more helpful and kind and to have much more of a sense of community than other places I’ve lived, especially New York City. I’ve been here since 2019 and don’t know anyone who has been the victim of any sort of violent crime. There is definitely violence in the city, but looking at the Ring app that shows where crimes have been, my area has been remarkably safe. I hope you aren’t turned off too much by your anomalous encounter in New Orleans. It’s such a great place.

Marie, as much as I'm a proud American who loves his country, unfortunately there are certain areas (usually select cities, including New Orleans) in the US that are known high crime areas. And at the expense of sounding naive (and I'm NOT naive) and maybe a bit corny, I can tell you're a genuinely nice/sweet soul, who wouldn't hurt a fly. So my watching some of your adventures in visiting many parts of the US, a few times I thought to myself, "I hope she stays safe and doesn't become a victim of crime" but I also didn't want to get you paranoid or scare you by putting that thought in your head. So when I read this headline about how you were almost attacked, I cringed when I read it, because I always knew being a crime victim was/is possible. But at least you avoided it and you're safe :)

Very sorry to hear about your streetcar experience. That's the thing about the US, there are a wonderful variety of experiences and people to meet. Unfortunately there are also a small number of criminals and creeps who do what they do. Not something you run into very often (personally I have never had it happen to myself), however sometimes you have to be mindful of where to go and times of day with higher risks. The people who live here generally have a sixth sense about that information and I am sorry for visitors from abroad who have a bad experiences because they do not. New Orleans can be a blast. It is a nighttime town. A party town. It also has a lot of interesting historical, architectural and spooky tours. We did a midnight graveyard tour and it was fascinating. It wasn't just a normal graveyard. It was triangular shaped and supposedly aligned with various vortexes around the world like the Great Pyramids. Within these walls were the very ornate crypts and elevated graves of people who were not allowed to be with the regular graves. These were the Oddfellows and Freemasons and other sects. So you can have a lot of fun, but you also need to watch your step. There is a lot of crime and you don't want to be walking into the wrong neighborhoods as a tourist. The first time I went there, a friend of mine who knew the town well, drew me a map. Basically, just stick to the French Quarter if you don't know the town and don't have a local to guide you.
