I have a good suggestion- you should react to Sabaton “Sarajevo” and “Versailles” at the same time because they are both short songs and of course Sarajevo should be done first 😊 because they are the songs that start and finish the album The War to End All Wars.

They say that when Polish Hussars were attacking from the hill on full speed was that impressive that no one could hold them back. Their horses had to be able to carry ~100kgs on their backs - both the equipment of a hussar and him and also they were trained not only to be strong but also one of the fastest (they were combining the lineage of old Polish equines with those from Tatar tribes in the east, tto be able to reach such effect). Hussars themselves had lances ("kopia") that were about 24 feet (it's over 0.7m !) and it's stated by historians (not only polish ones lol) that they could take up several people in one "jab". So now imagine even few thousand of these man attacking at once even much bigger army. They'd stand no chance at such circumstances. The lances and wings (which made thundering sound when they were on fast speed) themselves were supposed to make opponents to be shocked and (then) scared before battle would even began.

@@ToonStory-fh4gn You may have forgotten, but at this time Polish Kings were elected, and Jan III Sobieski before becoming king was Hetman Wielki Koronny, which means that he was the supreme commander of Polish forces, not mistake with supreme commander of all Commonwealth soldier, Lithuania has separate supreme commander, the Hetman Wielki Litewski. And Jan III Sobieski, as hetman, had long experience with wars against Ottomans. The title of Hetman Wielki can be roughly translated as military Grand Marshal, or literally as Grand Hetman, they have vices too, Hetmanowie Polni (field marshals/Field hetmans). During peacetime, the Grand Hetman remained at the court, dealing with general administration and guarding the interests of the army. The main task of the Field Hetmans was to protect the south-eastern Ukrainian and Lithuanian borderlands of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth against invasions from neighboring countries. They were the direct superior of the local defense units and later of the Quart soldiers. Field hetmans were responsible for intelligence, reconnaissance, and conducting ad hoc battles (e.g. against Cossacks or Tatars). During the battle, under the authority of the Grand Hetman, they commanded the less prestigious left wing, and in its absence, they took over command.

Hello everyone, I'm Polish, no country in the world has had such a rich history for a thousand years. The hussars are the backbone of our history, they never lost a single battle, even when the enemy had an advantage of over 10 times! Poland has never lost a single war. The Polish state initiated democratic rights already in the Middle Ages, but other nations did not like us! During the partitions of Poland at the end of the 18th century, three countries hostile to Poland took part. Poles regained independence in 1918 after 123 years of absence on world maps, until 1921 they fought against the communists for freedom and won!!! Then, a short period of peace brought us another war, and once again the Poles did not lose alone! previously, Germany, Russia and Austria took part in the partition of Poland, 18 years after defeating the Bolsheviks, the Poles were attacked again by Hitler-Germany, and after 2 weeks of fighting, the Russians attacked us from the east - Poland fell again under the pressure of two superpowers, never alone! !! This is a short history of the Polish nation, I invite you to talk to me if anyone would like to learn more about our history😉. Remember that Poland was the first to start working on constitutional law in 1789, but the United States overtook us in approving the first constitution, which implemented it in 1791, and Poland in 1792, but the United States started working in 1790, I may be wrong only a year on these dates😜. What I want to tell you Poland is the cradle of democracy, faith, strength and power. Our people will never surrender, millions of Poles were murdered, Poland lost its sovereignty for almost 200 years, but this is why we are strong and proud again, we cannot be destroyed!!! The spirit of faith, freedom and struggle, motto: God, Honor, Homeland - no enemy will ever take this away from us, Glory to God!!!

Well used and well commanded, the hussars were unstoppable in their best times, mainly in the 17th century, although they also had their moments of glory in the 16th century. The hussar lances could measure over 6 meters and wiped out enemy infantry. In addition, they had some kind of broadswords, also long ones, sabers and pistols. Hussar armor was made in such a way that it could stop bullets, especially from a longer distance. But the most important thing was the tactics of the attack - the hussars accelerated in a rather loose formation, only to quickly form a wedge just over 100 meters from the enemy lines. Hussar horses were specially trained to keep the line even when the hussar lets go of the reins, to have both hands free to fight. Selling such a horse abroad was punishable by death in Poland. Jan III Sobieski was an excellent king-commander, previously the commander-in-chief of the Polish-Lithuanian army (Great Hetman). He knew how to defeat the Turks, and they feared him like the plague. And just like in medieval times, Sobieski did not hesitate to charge at the head of his army. He had a French wife, called Marysieńka in Poland, and they loved each other very much. Sobieski was also a talented writer, his love letters to Marysieńka are considered pearls of love prose in Polish literature. After the Battle of Vienna, he was supposed to say, travesting the famous quote from Cesar: "we came, we saw, God won" :)

It's just a film, and no other film has ever managed to present the hussar attack as we know it from the sources. They attacked in a line started about 400 m long, in two ranks, as they gained momentum, the lines formed one formation and towards the end they were running knee to knee at a gallop. The tight formation was about 80 meters long and was longer than the standard regiment of pikemen at that time. Spears longer than pikemen's pikes. The impact was like hitting a board studded with nails. If they failed, they turned back and formed the formation again, taking new copies (these were for single use). Their retreat was covered by the so-called "pocztowi" - each hussar had to appear in their company, it was a light cavalry. The hussars were a complete war machine.

I have a feeling that you will get to them eventually but some songs you should react to are Carolus Rex, Lion from the North, The Last Battle, The Lost Battalion, 82nd All the Way, and The Last Stand. These are just my personal favorites. Also, in regard to Sieges of Vienna, possibly one of my favorite quotes in history came from the 1529 siege. The Sultan boasting at the start of the siege that he will be having breakfast in the Viennese Cathedral in two weeks. When that day came and went, the Viennese sent him a letter telling him that his "breakfast is getting cold." lol

The Polish hussars were one of the best cavalry in the history of the world. In 1683, the Polish hussars saved Europe from the threat of the Ottoman Empire by going to the aid and saving besieged Vienna. Austria thanked us for this 100 years later. Austria expressed its gratitude in such a way that together with Prussia and Russia they dismantled the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and for 123 years Poland ceased to exist. Today, Europe is once again threatened by the invasion of Muslim immigrants and there are no longer any hussars to defend it. Austria wyraziła swoją wdzięczność w ten sposób, że wspólnie z Prusami i Rosją rozebrali Rzeczpospolitą i na 123 lata Polska przestała istnieć. actually few things and im gonna be that guy so 6 meeters not 5 i mean someone would say whatever 1 meter difference who cares but in that time 1 meter was ur death or his death as well as they charged from the left wing because it was the most prestigious and king Sobieski said that if hes not gonna be on the left and not gonna lead whole thing hes coming back to Poland and nto only that during Battle of Khotyn in 1673 Sobieski wasnt a king then but he was Grand Hetman of the Crown and asked Habsurgs for help but the answer he received was something like this "Poles, advise yourselves". but Sobieski was happy they asked him for help because he knew without his help Turks will destroy Vienna in no time so it was convenient to fight on austrian soil safe for poles so he used austrians and others from HRE as a deyoc or battle meat to focus ottoman forces on them and wanted them to push ottomans towards vienna so he coudl strike from the back but it wasnt easy 26 cannons and over 14k horsmen and had to go upwards to the hill it took him 2 days to do that. After that there were few other battles for edxample Battles of Parkany which was the key win to the whole vienna thing. And afte that fun fact pope thanked Sobieski for help and Sobieski's reply was "venimus vidimus deus vicit" (Julius Cesar quote) kidna sad austria forgot that and in less than 100 yeras they took part in 1st partition of Poland. Ahh and almostr forgot Kara Mustafa didnt died during battle of Vienna but later after other battles when he came back to Belgrad and there leader of the Janissaries simply ghave him silk rope and we dont know if he hanged himself or was strangled

The combat record of Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth Winged Hussars stands for itself. In 1577 a massive charge of this ultra-heavy cavalry unit smashed a German army from Danzig, blitzing into the teeth of a 12,000 man force and crushing them until all that remained was a well-trampled patch of red where the enemy army once used to be. Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth losses in the battle totaled about 88 men, and most of those clowns weren't even Hussars. In 1601, a thousand Hussars defeated a Swedish cavalry force four times that size. At the Battle of Kircholm four years later, the Hussars (whose commanders' completely badass motto was "Kill First, Calculate Later"), sent 1,000 lancers in a charge against 11,000 Swedish infantrymen and cannons for some reason, and incredibly, despite the ridiculous idiocy of sending your elite troops on such an impossible mission, the friggin' Hussars jammed their poles (OMG AWESOME PUN FTW) into anything they could find and not only emerged victorious, but utterly slaughtered their opponents army, hacking the broken infantry units into giblets as they fled the field. Amazingly, that wasn't even the most impressive shit this mobile last stand accomplished in its proud heritage as the Commonwealth's premier exporter of busted-up faces. At the Battle of Klushino in 1610, the Hussars were outnumbered ten to one, and still somehow came out on top, utterly annihilating an army of 40,000 Swedes and Russians with just 4,000 lancers. What might be even more awesome then the Winged Hussars' much-deserved reputation as seemingly-invincible shit-wreckers is their completely over-the-top awesome battle gear. These guys went with the heaviest armor they could find, decking themselves out in fully-articulated plate mail at a time when most European armies were switching away from breastplates and over to firearms, but these ferocious warriors didn't even give a crap about rushing at state-of-the-art muskets with hand-to-hand combat weapons. Their primary implement of facial demolition was a lightweight (yet still completely insane) 19-foot lance capable of outreaching even the most well-endowed infantry spear hedges, and after they splintered that up the asses of their foes, the Hussars could fall back on pistols, a dagger, and one of two different types of swords. badassoftheweek.com/hussars.
