It was a lot of fun to work on. Angie was the only one who attended the session where we added the drums and mixed. A real pleasure!

This download originates from 'Rage' music show (ABC TV, Australia) during the last Oz music renaissance (90-97). I always felt it was their best song & promised a grittier, darker edge to their repertoire (which until then, had been dismissed as lite fluff). This was *anything but*... Real life had started happening behind the scenes, inflecting their heavier sound & lyrics with a desperation that wasn't there before. "How can you sleep with me, So silently?"

Such a good song and I'm glad I've discovered it thanks to Double J replaying the Hottest 100 of 1996.

I know your whereabouts, unhappily You know my weakness is my sympathy The crust in your temperament Don't wash with me I scrub at the base of it with vaseline What's come over me What's come over me What's come over me What's come over me Coming down on myself too easily Packing those stairs away could visibly Be the most hurtful thing you did to me How can you sleep with me so silently What's come over me? What's come over me What's come over me What's come over me Licking up like a cat on your filthy mat I like to live with my head in your lap I don't like to need that, I don't like to need that I don't like to need that, I don't like to need that Walking your muddy feet on my carpet What's come over me? There's no charge, hurry up and find out who you are

One of my favorite songs. It really bothers me that the opening riff is edited down compared to the album version, though!

For a song that only peaked at 83/77 in the UK, this was played an awful lot back in Autumn 1996 on Virgin 1215 during my mini-breakdown where I thought I was going off to become a priest of all things... Frente also did that one (I'll need to find it again!) that was background-played in #HomeAndAway a lot in the diner back in the early 1990's as well - in fact, can anyone help with finding that?

Hey there ..I like this song..I wondered if Angie Hart ever met Lisa Loeb? This sounds very much like Lisa Loeb..or a song Lisa Loeb should have had on her album..why did frente break up in the first place?
