The Terrific Trio to me are among the saddest characters in the DCAU because despite going nuts later on they really did try to make the best out of a nasty situation by being heroes only to be consumed by mental and body instability. All because of a jealous asshole who didn't stop to think that what he was doing was both stupid and selfish. Wish things turned out better for them as opposed to how it played out. Freon especially had a lot of wonderful things about her. I mean an attractive ice based heroine who can be flirty, loving and a jokester is something you can never go wrong with. No wonder Magma and Howard fell for her.

I feel bad for the Trio. Their lives were ruined all because of a man's envy and jealous. Did Howard even face jail time? He should have at least gotten attempted murder charges.

He did. Terry handed him over to Barbara Gordon after this and he may have temporary jail time but the guilt he had over this incident would haunt him forever.

​@@EkoBahamut If anything, I'd think a green thumb like Poison Ivy (creation) would be more opposed to fire (destruction). Fire melts ice, but so does water (more accurately, temperatures higher than the freezing point). The Human Torch is a reckless hothead with no scientific knowledge whatsoever (at least in the 2000s films). Freon is not. She's more closely related to Sue Storm, not Sue's brother Johnny. Sue and Freon are also in a love triangle. Freon and Johnny can fly/float, but that's about the extent of their similarities. A ton of other superheroes can fly, too.

The terrific trio were a similarly of The Fantastic Four! & Freon was like the invisible Woman. Along with Magma is the Thing & Human Torch Combined! & the other one was obviously Lille Mr Fantastic! It was always so sad what happened at the end of this Episode since the Sad Tune hits hard & they never appeared after that! & that also explains of what if our greatest Heroes Became Our greatest Threat!

Even DC got to do the Justifiers and the Retaliators in contrast with the Avengers, the future family and the Terrifics in contrast with the Fantastic Four, Lord Havok in contrast with Dr. Doom, they even did their own take on Marvel's Hyperion, Hyperius.

It's just a reference (they have similar backstories and everything), but they were never intended to be exact copies of the Fantastic Four for obvious reasons.

I remember this scene, she was beautiful, but except this is all Micheal's fault for causing her and the two others to become different and obtain powers. So I don't know what happen to her and the rest of the team. But as for Micheal, he deserve to be locked up for betraying his friends and the girl he loved. After all, an anime lesson that I once learned, "Those who break the rules are scum, but those who betray their own friends are even worst than scum." Andd that is the main reason why I never liked Micheal in Batman Beyond..! He needs to go to prison and confess his crime for all of this..!
