To properly CPM/frequency match each club must the shaft be parallel tip or tapered...also were are the CPM numbers come from on a shaft...Butt/middle/tip....I'm looking at a mid-high to a high launch shaft....a builder from another site said it came from butt end and that seems odd.

JMC, Can an amateur like me get the Frequency for the shafts? How and what do I need to have to get the job done?
@johnrobinett64854 жыл бұрын
When you trim for frequency and then length how do you arrive at the correct length with the correct frequency. i,e, what do you do first? I would assume you trim for frequency, but if you do that, how do you arrive at the correct length ?

Great Video, question about Swing weight sensitive. Do you add the amount of weight to head/Tip weight and then match the needed frequency? Thank you

Yes

I really like all of your content, but for me at times the details fall just shy. A few questions if I may, Jim. When you trim the tip then remark the new shaft length, maybe mention you are placing that new mark at the butt end, I assume, at the new length in the vice. Also, anyone who has used a spine finder would have felt the stiffness variation. Surely once you find the right frequency and then spine and FLO the frequency is going to change. In my head, it would. Is this the case as I have never used a frequency machine to test this. Thanks again for your content. I love club building and tinkering with my own equipment.
@seanbecker8328Ай бұрын
Hey quick question so once you have the frequency you want on the fist iron (I'm assuming the longest iron) do you the just follow the trim code from there for each iron. For example if you have the 4 iron exactly where you want it and each iron is supposed to be tipped a 1/2" more is that usually the case of could they all be different and you have to use the analyzer on every shaft
@McGolfАй бұрын
It is a combination of trim code and machine, in use trim codes but trim a bit lighter than prescribed and then key the flex, then trim agin if needed

i am not familiar with frequency matching and i would appreciate a little context. what number are you reading from the machine and what number are you matching with the chart? and how do you know how much you have to cut off? i am confused. thank you.

Hi. How do you determine the CPM slope between each club. Do you base the flex you want off of FCM chart? For example, you want this person's irons to play as close as possible to 6.0 FCM. To find the slope of the shafts, don't you need the 3i and 9i? Do you tip those shafts to recommended specs to be able to get CPM measurement to correctly determine the slope?
@McGolf3 жыл бұрын
the slope is dependent on the CPM you want between clubs. Typically the slope for rifle was 4.5. Mine is 4.0 to soften the club a bit.

Hey Jim, on graphite shafts is determining spine alignment necessary? I know flo is important in the build process. Great vids. Enjoy every one of them.
@McGolf4 жыл бұрын
I start with finding the spine then Flo, however some companies mark shafts to give you a clue where to start if not spining
@nicolabarbolini71894 жыл бұрын
@@McGolf Hi! I can't understand why i have to find the spine and put it at 12 if after i need to find the FLO alignment (and use it to built the club, at 12). Thank you! stay safe!
@McGolf4 жыл бұрын
@@nicolabarbolini7189 think of like this, Spine is finding the right church where FLO is finding the right pew. the spine gets you in the general area and the FLO takes into account the actual head geometry.

I'm in the dark. I didn't get the idea of it too well. You're shortening the shafts to increase the frequency. What if the frequency is too high to start with. Get a longer shaft and cut it down? See? I'm wobbly on all this. Maybe you could explain stuff on your next vid. Thanks, I just subscribed and liked and share 2 of your videos.
