For idle speeds only, putting a lower limit on the hz (say 550-300hz) will remove some of the spikes dropping downward from the missing trigger wheel teeth. Makes is visually more pleasant IMO.

I'll have to try that. Thanks

very nice explanation my friend 👏.we (or at least i) want more frequency/math channel explanation.thanks for your effort to teach us.

Thank you, glad you commented. I will try to incorporate more explanations on frequency math in upcoming videos.

Very good video. I am curious about the snap throttle technique for diesel engines. Would you make videos about diesel engines drive-ability problems. Another thing: Why do you prefer Pico 6? Thanks again.
@CartersDiagnostics Жыл бұрын
If something cool comes in with our diesel engine i will try to record it. Pico 6 is what I started with and I'm just slow to change.

Have you ever locked a NISSAN crank signal with pulse WIDTH trigger to see timing chain slop thanks MIKE

Yes 👍. Here is a small video on my Instagram where I use it. 2020 Nissan Altima 2.5. Using a scan tool and Pico to explore the E-Ivt system. Also utilizing an advanced trigger within pico. #oscilloscopeawareness #automotivediagnostics #testdontguess #nissan #mastertech #alwaystraining #picoscope instagram.com/tv/CTAdfT4FQNo/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=

Sir,you have amazing skills in using picoscope 👍 👌 it's a great explanation. Question-how do we know the onecycle using rising Edge to rising Edge as you said its 433 hź? Thanks.

At around the 3:34 mark, I show the 433hz in the lower right corner of the screen. That's how I came up with that number. Thanks for the support!!

Thanks can you make a video on an RPM CHANNEL. thanjs CARTER

Try the link in the description box. It goes to my Instagram page. Its about a 10 minute post that explains the RPM math channel.

How do we do this on a generic snap on scope with out math channels? I have a 2009 Saturn cue that counts misfire on cylinder 6 but sitting in the seat it doesn’t Even feel like it’s missing. Trying to see if it’s a bad pcm or if it’s actually missing
@CartersDiagnosticsАй бұрын
Im not 100% sure, but I dont think you can on a S.O scope You coul howevver use a pulse sensor in the tailpipe to verify the mis-fire

@CartersDiagnostics Жыл бұрын
Yes it should work on analog signals as well. A filter may have to be applied to the signal to make it work.

@@CartersDiagnostics ha una formula da consigliarmi? O il settaggio da inserire?
@CartersDiagnostics Жыл бұрын
@@andreai9165 Do it the same way as I did at 2:22, just assign the channel your wave is on. I just tried it on an analog signal, it works great!
@andreai9165 Жыл бұрын

Something is not right here, from peak to peak there is around 128teeth, that's 1280 degrees in a 36-2!!

@@CartersDiagnostics supposed to be 720 degree from compression peak to peak. In a 36-2 thats 72 teeth.

Exactly. I just checked the file from that video 68 teeth with 4 missing from compression peak to peak. Thanks for making me re think this. I need to be kept on my toes 😄😄
