Hi, thanks for watching. Not really, maybe at the beginning, as I was still trying to figure out how I can manage a balanced lifestyle (plus getting used to the time changes). But because our schedules are very flexible, and we get plenty of days off in a month, everything’s manageable.

Hi, thanks for watching. It really depends where you will be based out of. Only Calgary-based FAs get to operate on the 787-dreamliners for most part and Europe flying on the dreamliners are currently only out of Calgary.

Hi, thanks for watching! Yes, we do get paid a minimum of X amount of hours per day when we’re on reserve. If we get called out to operate, we’d get paid either that minimum hours or the block flying time, whichever the greater one is.

@@garretthofer9932 Hi, unfortunately, I’m not entirely sure how the HR team gauges their strategy when it comes to hiring people. I guess operational needs will dictate whether or not they’d need to hire more candidates. But don’t lose hope, just keep trying. Maybe it’s not the right time yet. :)

Hi, I don’t think so, unless the company offers an unpaid leave of absence depending on the operational needs. Or if you have a month’s worth of vacation and you want to bid for them together in a month, you may or may not get it, based on seniority.

I don’t mean to bother you, I’m in the pool for the upcoming April training, and being that I’ll be a commuter to the Calgary base, I’m wondering if there’s a few days off in a row usually. Thanks

Hi, if you bid for days off in between pairings, then you might be able to get days off in a row. I usually bid for two consecutive days off in a row and for the most part, I do get them (based on seniority). You can always bid more consecutive days off if you like. The computer will try and satisfy it as best as it can, based on seniority.

With the increase in passengers has the use of the flying benefit been more difficult to use on your off days? (Personal travel/holiday etc)
