I thought that too. This show is pleasant but as time goes by is my all time favorite over all sitcoms. British or American.

I like Hester's and Sonia's houses, that all the rooms are separated by doors. Neat layout.

That's how most houses are in UK, so I'm assuming you're not from around here? It's the modern thing for some to knock through these days but quite a number don't.

I know, it doesn’t seem that long ago but Fresh Fields started 38 years ago! That makes me feel ancient lol. It’s just over 13 years since Anton died, that seem like only yesterday too. I never tire of watching his work, I’m still a huge fan.

@@karengillett444838 years 😱😱. I’m 44 and remember watching it as a child. I’m Irish but was raised watching British comedies!! Excellent programmes - Are you Being Served, Carry Ons, Fresh Fields…all so funny! 😊

This episode along with the episode a waiting game are my two favorite episodes. I love how they try to escape from the overbearing in laws by staying at sonia's house. Yet when the in laws come to sonia's house the fields have to flee to the granny house.

Oh no, they made us laugh!!! Now if only Hester could have sung us a little song from time to time....♥♥♥♥

I absolutely LOVE British comedy from the 80s. Fantastic acting and genuinely funny! I’m Irish and am the first to admit that Irish comedy is cringeworthy!!

£95 on plumbing when detached houses in Barnes Village make £4-5 million these days. Not too bad even 35 years ago ;)

Turns out the houses were in Teddington and not Barnes. 65 Hampton Road. Sadly boarded up for development :( www.google.com/maps/@51.4279416,-0.3492647,3a,75y,12.14h,82.69t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sWoHqhIwPUhIPFioo4k2eDA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192

Still trying to remember where I have seen Henry, before; I know he was not Brigadier Lemmington on "To the Manor Born, " although the characters are somewhat similar.

I'm confused. I started watching this couple they were moving to France and the show had a different name and intro. Several episodes later I notice the intro and it's like a different show ???? I'll have to watch all the episodes in order. I was wondering how there was all these English people in France lol. It's a cute show though. Pleasant.

Love this series, brilliant, and when the world was simpler. We had men and women, and we didn't have to constantly apologise for being white in our own country. Wish it was like that again.....

Exactly. The world has gone crazy now. I love British comedy from that era. They wouldn’t get away with it today 😢😢
