I'm now 47, it has taken me 31 years to search for this track. Imagine, I only ever heard it once off the radio, Pete Tong in his early days back in 1989 maybe. And I distinctly remember a rap squeezed in between the song. Me memory is sketchy as I dont remember details, who sang, and more importantly who rapped - but I remember bits and pieces of the rap up til this day! I've tried googling this version for many many years after that, and today only, Monday 14th March 2022 I have finally found it. I believe this is a UK only release. Back then you put that drumbeat on any song you'd be a club superstar DJ. If you weren't in your teens in the UK in 1989 leading up into the 90s, even if you were in the wrong age bracket - you would have never experienced this cultural, musical, fashion, life phenomenon of some sort. Baggy Chipie jeans, British Knights, Jordan 5s, Raiders cap. U had to live it. It was REAL.

It was the late 80's living with my aunt in Providence Rhode Island. I was 15 years old then. walking to McDonalds with my Boom Box. This song came on. The first time I heard it. I got home, tune to the same station and pop a fresh cassette tape into the Boom Box. Sure enough after half a day waiting the song came on again. 😀I lost the tape when I move back to California. Spend the next 3 decades searching this song. Found it the other day. 😇 This is a classic 80's oldskool mix. The song, her voice smooth and calm. The beat is chaotic. A perfect match. 👌🏼

Loved this tune when I was 15,bought it from our price on 12” Reminds me of hanging around up the field getting drunk, snogging birds and having no worries,no phones, mum just new you were out with your friends,I loved the back end of the 80’s and into the 90’s We should make a revival.. On another note everyone from all colours danced and took pills, there was unity and everyone just had a great time.whats happened to this generation now !! Everyone has anxiety Everyone is depressed Everyone hates each other Kids have no respect Knife crime Boredom You all need to listen to some 80’s and 90’s dance music and just think about what’s wrong with all of you And stop blaming the older generation for all this mess cause it’s you lot that have fucked this world Rant over

This song in particular frames a window in time when I spent many evenings at a new friends mum's house - She had left behind a life in London due to suffering from ME, I'd not long split up with a girl friend. Somehow our paths crossed and we became smoking buddies, I really appreciated her chilled style, her taste in music and the dope we smoked together watching this music video and various others such as Soul II Soul, Neneh Cherry, RebelMC and Lindy Layton's version of Silly Games...great, great times

this record literally changed my life. i must of been around 14 wen it came out in 1989 . the mix of hiphop drums(james brown of course) mixed with this laid back kind of soul. it was so different to the US scene at that time - where u had new jack swing rnb. this wasnt either. it was the begining with groups like smith n mighty wild bunch who became massive attack etc the sound of #bristol and trip hop. i used to hate that word so much . it was like a curse but for better or worse it was an amazing time and bristol was there with London as a hot bed of ppl pushing music boundaries. Only recently did i find out that in funky four was KRUST - foundr of full cycle drum n bass label and also flyn (from flyn and flora) . ground breaking record. . at that time it was like a clash in the UK from the acid house rave scene, indie music like happy mondays , millitant hiphop all with the foundation of reggae music. just completely and totally mad. im not sure there will ever be a period quite like it ever again and i was lucky enough to at least c a glimpse.

I saw this video being shown at a 'Bristol Music' film event at the Cube in Bristol, and this video was the one that got a round of applause from the audience. I was 11 when this came out, and lived near those houses - really exciting then to see so many local landmarks appear in a video. They were the first group I remember to proudly put Bristol on the map long before it was fashionable, props for that.

definetly groundbreaking in a time when the 80s needed more aong with soul to soul. Bristols mark on the uk sound was very important and path the way to modern jungle drum n bass and electronic music as we know it.this track came as a responce to the usa house music and was a steping stone well needed.
