Many years ago, I was in Sainsbury's, Lewisham hearing the Rose Royce version on their tannoy and thinking what a great song it is. A month later, 'Studio 150' was released and, amazingly, Paul had covered it. And it's one of his best covers ever in my opinion. His voice is stunning on this song.

Hello Chris, sorry to hear about your friend. May that star shine bright forever, listening to Weller. As a young mod (now with grey hair), who still loves this stuff along with family and all of his current stuff too, best wishes from us. Paul doesn't write many love songs, but English Rose and Invisible are a bit special. A girl I love bought us tickets to see him at the O2 in 2009 and we danced all night. Be safe everyone.

Not officially sat with him as such,but he did sign my broken down scooter outside the Glasgow Apollo back in 1980.He IMO is and always has been in a class of his own.I even took a picture of the Apollo Trophy included in The Jam tribute session down in London's Somerset House a couple of years ago,just before The Who and Mr Weller gig in Hyde Park,as that was the very night he signed my ramshackle broken scooter.
