HI, I could leave them on the vine longer to get sweeter, but I would have to use chemicals to protect them from insects/birds, I refuse to do that so I add a little sugar , it also helps to render the juice from the grapes, thanks for watching I appreciate your comment

My Grandpa and Dad would make their own wine and also a form of jelly too John, It was called Mostarda du Vino Sicilian. It is delicious. Nice stories about your Grandparents John, lovely memories. What a process. Probably a lot better than store bought, though. But I do prefer my grape juice to be wine lol. It's cool that it's something passed down in the family. We are growing grapes from seed they did pretty good this year under a squash plant Next year we will let them grow up a few strong ones I planted them from my moms grapes shes only been growing them for a few years but always wanted some :)
