So all kidding aside (my earlier comment about not eating) I've been on the hunt for a new desk set up for quite a while and I think this just might be the one. We have a similar aesthetic with lots of white and that has been a real challenge finding a desk that I like in white with great quality, a look that I really like and that's not outrageously expensive. Changing it up to a thick wood top like the maple with my white accessories will look good together. I have the same mouse (LOVE the MX Master) and El Gato boom arm in white. I think I will get the stand in white though and it's probably worth it to get the white modesty tray and coasters for it too. What also sold me on it was the desk shelf with the drawer. Very clean look and I like the minimalism. I'll pass on the Apple monitors for my MacBook though, they are nice but really too dang expensive and overkill for my needs. My 32" and 27" white 4k Samsung M70 smart monitors will do just fine. All in I think this is going to be the one I get for myself it'll just be Ramen noodles and PB&J's for the next year. 😏

If you're looking for desk pad that would be very comfortable for elbows / wrists, you may wanna have a look at fusionstrike original limestone desk mat. I’m not running both at 5K because the text will be too tiny but I’m still getting 5K picture quality running at 2880x1620 @ 60hz. The TB4 Dock I’m using helps with this.

In 2015, I used a $50 ikea desk that I bought used with a hollow table top lol. I was praying it wouldn’t split in half sometimes. It took some time to finally upgrade the desk space and now I can’t stop upgrading 😅

Hey, I wanted to ask you how do you connect your M1 MacBook to 2 monitors in extended mode? Are you running some software like Display Link, or the dock station has it's own solution for this problem?

So with the M1/M2/M3 series MacBook Pro, you can run at least 2 external displays. I use a Thunderbolt 4 Dock which allows me to connect 2 monitors to the dock and one cable to the MacBook.

just a question about the dock can you connect a USB C monitor (like a dell) to the dock and work it that way? I ask because I have an older dock with USB C but when I connect my new curved Dell monitor to the USB C in the USB C connection in the dock it doesn't work (only when you connect the USB C cable from the monitor directly to my PC. Am I missing something? Is there such a thing as a different USB C port (which doesn't do picture and just charges for example?) Love your channel!! Thank you so much!

Yes the dock I am using supports Thunderbolt 4 so it’ll work properly with USB-C monitors. Not all USB-C are the same. Some only provide data and does not work with monitors. Which dock are you using?

So far I haven’t had any issues, the desk is pretty heavy and stable so there’s no vibrations anywhere although I haven’t run into it yet. I know the Studio tips easily but if your desk is against a wall, you should be fine.

Do you find that your mac performance is better on the studio display? I’m torn between the studio display and lg 40 inch ultra wide. But I’m concerned I’ll see a performance hit on the lg. what’s been your experience?

Hey Jay, I don't see a different in "performance" between the Studio and the LG 40" - I noticed when using the Studio Display, it wakes instantly vs the LG or any other non Apple brand display, there is a slight delay. It really comes down to what you'll be using the monitors for. Color accuracy was one of the reasons I switched to the Studio. Going from a 40 to a 27 kinda sucks which is why I ended up with two Studios. Hope that helps?

Are both monitors running at 5K resolution? From what I see the Brydge stone pro supports 2 monitors but only at 4k

Good question, both monitors are scaled at 2880x1620 @ 60Hz (with 5K picture quality) but I tried running both at 5K with the Brydge dock and it works fine!

interesting to see you down size... I am working with a 34" UW and 27" in portrait orientation... I use a lot of programs and windows for my 9-5, so I am thinking about upgrading to 40" UW, and getting the LG DUALup... so I actually liked your initial setup... but I understand if someone doesn't need all the screen real estate it can be too much. having said that I do like clean minimalistic aesthetic, so I am trying to marry the two.. have a lot of screen real estate but clean and simple.
