black women and asian men are perceived very similarly in relation to their counterparts, just on the opposite side of the spectrum. The perceived stereotypes that make black men desirable(manly, masculine, aggressive, etc etc) in the dating arena become negative for black women. Eddie Huang, I’m at your parents age and I grew up being “disciplined” also. While I do believe that it maybe necessary when major wrong is being done by the child, but to get spanked just because the grade has fallen, is ridiculous! I hope when you have kids of your own one day, you’ll never be “violent” to them. To beat your child thinking that’s training for leadership is simply, a load of craps.
@vietster11419915 жыл бұрын
I think this is representative of poor immigrants moving to "lands of opportunity", rather than just an asian thing. They do understand that as the non-dominant race you have to work way harder to be on the same level and in most asian cases to just get to 2-3 levels below those of your peers. The only thing wrong is their execution of motivation. Older generations grew up with discipline through fear and while some have assimilated, they still have issues of showing remorse, at least to your face.
@vietster11419915 жыл бұрын
@GreaterGood510 You think a child should be subjected to violence because they didn't get perfect grades or wanted to play like a normal child? That's just an older person applying their anger issues and unfulfilled ambitions because they are in a position of authority.
