@@SYDAirlineEnthusiastI was bouta say that! 😂 also even if a 777-300ER went back into 1996 this new livery was made and employed on their new aircraft in 2015/2016. The closest thing I could find to Orlando - Taipei (since they haven’t flown there at all) was New York - Taipei which started in 1993 on their Boeing 747-400.

It has nothing to do with that. Tourists in Taiwan need to bring toilet paper because the public bathrooms there don't have any pre-stocked. You have to bring your own.

The scene for the airport taxi stand is filmed at the actual location (Taoyuan International Airport, which serves Taipei city and surrounding areas). The luggage cart is from EVA Air, a Taiwan based airline.

Fun fact: The clip at the beginning is wrong as since this episode was filmed around 2016 or 17. The airplane at the beginning is a 777-300ER which was manufactured from 2004 to now (not sure if it’s stopped yet). There are actually 2 mistakes here as this takes place in 1996 where EVA Air only serves a few US cities. The correct aircraft should be a Boeing 747-400. The next mistake is EVA Air never flew direct from Orlando (later in this episode Louis says he flew direct) and the closest route that was available in 1996 was JFK-TPE. Hope I don’t sound too “nerdy”

1:08 ok this scene is inaccurate: TSA Taipei Song-Shan Airport during the 90's wasn't recieving international travellers duing the 90's back then it would be TPE Taoyuan CHANG Kai-Shek International Airport, reciving them flying from the states, fun fact: TSA Taipei Song-Shan Airport started off as an Imperial Japanese Naval Aviation air base built during WWII, when the Japanese left it was converted to and served as the first and only international Airport of Taiwan during 50~60's then in 70's when CKS airpot was built Song Shan was repurposed into a domestic only airport, then after the Taiwanese High Speed Rail was online in 2008 it was repuposed to an international airport like most other airport while domestic airlines seek international flight oppertunites (so they don't gone out of busniess due to the bullet train we have)

EVA Air is a Taiwanese Airline, so yes they would. The episode took place in 1997 so I think at this point the name "Taiwan" was being used much more often than "Republic of China". This is because for the first time the Legislative Yuan and Executive Yuan were dominated by the Democratic Progressive Party and their platform advocates a more Taiwanese identity rather than Chinese. If you ask me, I think that is stupid and I'm not even conservative. But hey, what can you do? At this point they have been separated for 50 years and right now irl more than 70, it was bound to happen.

This is actually quite wrong about everything. The parents were from Taiwan, and most Taiwanese immigrants in the US keep their TW(ROC) passports. So, they are not supposed to take the foreigners' line and be asked by customs about the purpose of visiting. Also, wrong airport. The airport shown in the scene is for domestic and military back in the '90s.

I also feel like taxi drivers in Taipei know English. I haven’t been to Taiwan, so I can’t judge, but the taxi drivers in Vietnam and Cambodia know English. EDIT: arrived yesterday in Taipei, and everyone here knows English. I have yet to hear someone thank me in mandarin instead of in English.
