This is what I did to avoid my externally mounted fresh water tank from freezing. I installed another 30 gal tank in inside the back of my van.

looks good. FYI you can buy something like a heating pad that you can stick to your other tank. keep up the good work
@TheRamblinCamperVan8 жыл бұрын
Yeah I mentioned heating pads in the video but do not want to have another thing to power when boondocking.. so the inside tank install is the best for me. Thanks for watching!

cool....you always do quality job, nice work!I have a quick question....maybe you can help me understand...lolcan you tell me if the blue seas waterproof circuit breakers have specific polarity??I've been trying to figure out if the circuit breaker between my solar panels and charge controller should be flipped.the way I am seeing it, is that the solar panels are supplying power to the controller, so shouldn't the "batt" side of the breaker be the side connected to the panels?....and the "aux" should be connected to the controller?....from the batteries TO the controller should be normal?.....in essence, I want to make sure the polarity is correct so whatever I am connecting to a breaker is actually protected and I'm not connecting them "backwards" in a sense.thanks for your help.I tried to find info. about this, but so far haven't been able to find anything.

Could you have covered the outside water tank with foam and insulation to prevent it from freezing in winter? I'm thinking about moving to Alaska with my RV and is looking at the same problem in winter.

Question, do the tanks have their own water pumps? If the tank inside has a pump and its above the bottom tank, how does the bottom tank get water into the van?
@JOHNNYEXPLORES7188 жыл бұрын
well done stay safe :)

Very nice, luckily my fresh water tank is already on the inside. I'm assuming you just have a 3 way ball valve for choosing which tank the pump sucks from?
@TheRamblinCamperVan8 жыл бұрын
Yeah just flip the valve for the tank you want to use. Thanks

With the new tank being behind the axle, did it make a difference in the ride or handling ?

"My original water tank would freeze because it's outside." You think? "Because it's outside, it freezes during the winter." Oh yeah? Thanks for those clarifications. Seriously, how about something like a water tank heat blanket? Works GREAT in my trailer, and with heat tape on the intake hose, it never freezes. Both work on 12 volt so even if boon docking you are water ready.
