He was putting the entire room on notice that he's not going to allow anyone to bully his wife. I loved the way he handled those two vipers who were trying to embarrass Niao Niao....he put them on blast big time. The way he embarrassed lady Wang about her family issues was hilarious. I rather liked that Shaoshang also has He Zhaojun grudgingly appreciate her now (previous scene) and the whole black guard of the general (later very funny episode: look forward to it). Although I doubted the insufferable Yuan Shen, here is also a clue that at least he is not ready to let others mock Shaoshang : he can do it, but the others will find soup on their clothes if not in their face ! Alas, Shaoshang is going to meet worse than the gossipping young ladies here : her enemies and false friends are going to increase again. Waiting impatiently for the release of episode 43, but already regretting that those revels will end at 56 on August 31 😥 I suppose I can rewatch for umpteenth time. Almost have some dialogues I could play myself now, in the original Chinese to boot😂😂😂😂 Or, I will switch to other genres and nice things like a story about a Fairy and Devil, or something mysterious with the handsome Xu Kai lost in the Kunlun Mountains. Maybe both, or more. I like to watch several things quasi simultaneously, and there is a recom somewhere I ought to dig up again because this looks promising.

Who in a sense called NIAO NIAO a wh*re or a “lady of the night, for want of a better word”.
