It never occurred to me that 2B was a softie bc her agreeing to help anybody is just me accepting side quests lmao🤣

Or rather 9S was dragging 2B around most of the time. Lol 2B is a big softie at heart, she just hides it to protect herself from the trauma of her purpose.

3:22 The comment that 2B said about "how much parts do you swap out before you lose yourself" it's a reference to the Ship of Theseus. It's a paradox that talks about whether an object which has had all of its original components replaced remains the same object. This was a secondary mission where you have to search some parts for a npc that couldn't do it himself because his leg was broken. At the end of the mission 9S asks the man why not replace his broken leg with another one, then he responds with a question, after fighting countless battles and replacing all of his parts except his broken leg, after replacing his last original part of himself, ¿does he really exists anymore or does he become an entirely new person?. It happens with human biology too, all our cells continuously die off and regenerate. If you are thirty, there are not original cells in your body from where you were ten. So if there's nothing left of you from 20 years ago ¿are you still the same person as when you were 10 years old?

Damn that’s deep. I knew it was really deep but I didn’t know about the reference and original idea. Now it’s *reeeeally deep.*

I'm glad to see a reactor who pays attention to the pauses they take while focusing on 2B, or to the questions and/or comments they make. Nothing is there without reason.

Yokotaro (the creator) changes the story for the anime so much, that the production team had to stop him from changing it more. They really want it to be as close as to the game. But still the changes are within the context "if you play the game you know it".

This was a great episode until the A2 fight. That's one of the coolest most hype fights in the game imo, and considering how good the animation was against the goliath class and random bots in episode 1 this should have been glorious, not half assed and over in 2 seconds. I think it would have been better if the episode ended with a2 taking out the king and about to square off against 2b. Then the next episode could have started with a bit more of a lengthy battle. With how the anime also cut short the fight against Adam when they first run into him I feel like there isn't enough action for how much the show should have. Don't get me wrong, the core of the game is the atmosphere and philosophy, and I am not asking for a Tengen vs Daki and gyutaro 5 episode battle. But the game is also a hack and slash and one of the most fun things about it is how it sometimes changes the battle mechanics to get an interesting experience, and I think this is a fight where a little 1 minute "demon slayer episode 19" battle would have really improved the show. I have an animated background of 2b in the forest looking at the ancient remains of the king with these animated leaves and it's just the most atmospheric thing, that's probably what I love most about Nier:Automata, the pure atmosphere.

I mean these kind of fights make much more sense for the show than the video game, of course fights are gonna last longer there. This is much more about the story than a bunch of drawn out fights against everyone.
@DutchDread Жыл бұрын
@@xTaylorMoon Which is why I think it was a good idea to cut out all the fighting against the mobs of the forest kingdom and having A2 do that instead. But there should be SOME battles, and this was definitely one that should have had a bit more love.

@@DutchDread I don't think a long drawn out fight here makes much sense in terms of storytelling but that's just me
@vergilschair4040 Жыл бұрын
@@xTaylorMoon I agree with you. I would've liked to see more about the original forest king tho. Like the part when the machines asks themselves why isn't the new king growing up like a human
@teongreen5254 Жыл бұрын
The fight had no conclusion in the game anyway and was only made as a game element. Why should they draw it out and make it epic in the anime. They probably want to save that for later on

@@sunpraiser3188 I fear i might go into spoiler territory here, and I don't wan't people to be ruined the experience, feel free to delete my comment if I do, POTENTIAL SPOILER: essentialy when you follow A2's journey from her origin to the end of route C, she became (in a symbolic and spiritual sense) the savior of humanity, and in the end the closest thing in Automata to a proper human being.
