It's interesting that Frieren now appreciates other people's time sufficiently to want to give up searching, and Fern becomes the one that encourages her to keep searching for something that she really cares about. Both character have grown since episode 2 where they got into their conflict over whether to search for the seeds for the blue moon flowers that Frieren wanted to see.

Himmel's approach to his situation is basically the trope of someone setting up a scavenger hunt for the one they love, but instead of something that happens over a day; he had to build one that would take a hundred years. It's bittersweet in how at the end of that scavenger hunt he can't be there, only his love.

They both gets hit by that spell and the mirage is Himmel + Frieren imaginary wedding. They eventually break through the illusion but Himmel actually had seen Frieren in a wedding dress with him 😭 That is some sort of comfort for the tragic love story

Saw this on another channel Notice that Fern's bracelet the Lotus is in full bloom, showing that love has or will blossom fully into it's full form. Frieren's ring, however, is still a simple bud and hasn't bloomed yet, showing that Himmel's love will never fully come to fruition, even if it still exists and is still eternal.

The ring scene was one of the scene we manga readers waited the most and the anime staff knew it because they teased the ring, in episode 1, in episode 12 and in the opening just before the chorus we see the ring fall with Himmel and Frieren next to each other, and the little scene that teased the ring in episode 12 wasn't in the manga ( in the second half of the episode when Fern get out of the room, we see Frieren staring at the ring and she takes it in her hands ), so the staff knew what they were doing... Also in the MV of Yoasobi that you watched not to long ago, we see the ring on Frieren's finger and a second time towards the end of the song there is a frame were we see the ring in detail, since this opening is about Frieren and Himmel, if you re watch it now after this episode it will break your heart... The more we see the more we realize at what extent Himmel and Frieren relationship is tragic. Such a beautiful relation, such pure feelings and each time we remembers that Himmel is gone.... I love this story with all my heart but it hurts me so much. Last thing, there is an official amv of all the episodes ( including these one ) that Milet the singer of the ending just released, with the ending song of course, very beautiful amv, if you want to see its on her official channel.

It just occured to me. When they entered that town, Freiren was looking at the clock tower. In Freiren's moeory when Himmel slip the ring on her finger, the clock tower bell started ringing. The clock tower reminded Freiren, and she finally understood.

One of the most touching scenes that gets glossed over easily for me is the scene between Heiter and Frieren (and Sein) when discussing being praised. As an adult you're hardly ever praised for doing difficult adult things, which is fine and what generally comes with being an adult. What made it so touching for me, speaking as an adult myself, was how real it felt when they said how from when we were young, we still have the mind now as we've had from back then, only now we just act like adults (both for our own benefit and for children's sake). And also, in a what may seem immature to some, but sweet to me, was how these two human adults (Heiter and Sein), were for a moment allowed to be praised like kids for holding up and being strong dependable adults by someone much older than them. Acts of sincere consideration really get me in shows and anime, and it's the emotional delicacy in which this anime handles such minor topics that just adds to how much I love this anime.

When she head-patted Heiter I just about lost it, this episode hit me just about as hard as episode 1 did. I think I was holding back the tears for the rest of the episode from there. And then they threw "the scene" at us, and then the ending song. Damn I think some onion ninjas snuck in again, as I'm writing this...

19:46 remember in Ep 3 in their fight with Qual (creator of Zoltraak)? He was momentarily caught offguard when he didn't notice Frieren was flying. It was already a hint about the fact that Flying spell is a relatively new spell for humans. Also if you noticed in the Yoasobi music video, the ring now means so much differently. Maaaan, there's so much to love about this anime. Also, good that you noticed that Himmel's favorite spell from Frieren was the flower bed spell. In the future episodes it will be revealed why. It's prolly around the end of the season so just nice to keep that info in your pocket for now 😊

As a fan of the manga I am extremely pleased with how well this series has been done and how faithful they have been to the manga. Too often there is some important aspect that doesn't make it into the anime adaptation (be it from manga or light novel). With the detail to the animation, sound effects and music it really brings the manga to life and then some.

Fresh Aniki was smiling the whole time and I was smiling too.😂 A warm fuzzy feeling makes me smile.(*´艸`*)💕 Freelen has been living alone in the forest for about 1000 years since Master Flamme passed away, so she doesn't know how to feel the distance between people. He was so happy to be patted on the head by Heiter at Himmel's funeral, so it was wonderful that he reciprocated that happy feeling to Heiter. Fern and Stark also grew up living alone with an old man, so they had no friends of the same age or even the opposite sex, so it was no wonder they didn't know how to interact with each other. The first place scene in the "Favorite Scene Popularity Poll" in the serial magazine finally came! A proposal, no matter how you look at it! Frieren, you should be aware of Himmel's feelings for the stones! 🤣

This was my favorite episode so far simply because of the himmel scene. I literally cried like a little baby when I saw it earlier today. The music makes it way more emotional. My favorite character is Himmel and you know that is a good ass character when he isn't even in the story besides in flashbacks. Himmel is HIM.
