More than just a recurring gag, I like that this time it's more of an explanation on how it happens every single time. The spell to detect a mimic is 99% accurate. And her curiosity for what that 1% might entail gets the better of her every single time. It's still a little silly. But it's actually understandable, given her love for magical items. NGL, if you tell me that I have a slight chance of getting good loot, I might just open it myself.

Spoiler of how strong methode is * She is good at restraint and hypnosis magic * She is good at mana detection better than genau * She is good at analyzing and dispelling other's magic * She can use Goddess's magic * She's good at killing demon having come from a demon-hunting races. *And she was able to solo fern clone without any scratches

I re read their fight and you're right but I'll still think Methode would beat that thing She is a perfect example of "Rock-Paper-Scissor" Methode is a generalist/multiclass build, she likely cannot go up against people in straight up attritional fights, but her tricks make her much harder to predict/counter. Fern is a pure/specialist build, she can fight very well under fights tailored to her situation, but will not be able to fight as effectively against generalists like Methode since she will not have many counters against Methode's many tricks Also Methode feats against the clone was already impressive because she's not even scratch after battling it She has a really good mana detection too comparable to fern arguably even better, can paralyze her in close range (she already tried that and it works), her shielding is good enough for Zoltraak and she has more experience overall than fern

Did the dungeon scan everyone and place them about according to level, which is why Denken’s group is facing the Frieren Boss, or do the mages have to pass through an area to be copied first? We were following Frieren’s group, but as they possibly found where they needed to go, there’s a cut to a gem, or something, that flashes before the cut to another group that is suddenly faced with their Doppelgängers as they pass through the area. I guess it could be both as well.

Aside from the very end of the episode, the highlight was watching Sense's reaction to Frieren & mimics. Even when the barrier was popped, she kept up her nonchalance. But the face she made when she realized that the legendary mage who defeated the Demon King was the fantasy equivalent of a gatchapon addict was priceless. There's a lovely little series from last year called "Otaku Elf" where the titular fae is addicted to collecting this series of toys called Frog Tanks, and just the alliterative idea of Frieren Frog Tanks makes me giggle like a small child discovering the word "doody." 🤣
