Fresh Life Church: Can I experience an “abundant life” when my relationship status doesn’t look like I expected? Is marriage the only way to experience the full life God has for me? In this message from Annie F. Downs, we explore the truth that both singleness and marriage are gifts from God, each offering unique opportunities to live a wildly abundant life. Discover why singleness is not a setback, why marriage is not the only Biblical path to fulfillment, and how abundant life is available to you in Christ, no matter your circumstances. Don’t wait for "someday"-your abundant life starts today.

As a 37 yr old Christian woman, I've always felt I was somewhat behind because I've never been married. I long to be married and have my "person," but know that it's His timing; not ours. His will; not ours. I thank you so much for this word because while I'd love to find a good and Godly husband, God sure has given to me abundantly in so many areas. This word was beautiful. Thank you for it.

You're not the only one! I am in my 40s, never married, I needed this sermon so much! I am running the good race and my eyes are focused on Jesus! However, Annie is right the church does push marriage but I know God is doing a good work in me I just needed this for encouragement! So good!

Same here! I'm 47 male and single and not because I want to be but because I haven't found someone yet and maybe now it's not the season for marriage but I pray one day that changes. It is hard when family members and friends are married with kids and I feel left behind at time but ultimately I know it's not under my control.

@samushunter0048 same! I get told I'm "not enough" because I haven't been married or had kids! But to God I am enough! I know better!

Thank you for this message. It is very rare thing to hear. I did not get married until 46. While single I rarely felt comfortable. Churches and pastors told me and other singles that we were broken. Through their actions they told singles they were not welcome. I am glad to hear someone finally recognized the obvious.

When you said, "Ask them if they believe Me..." I. LOST. IT. Absolutely cried my eyes out... YES, I believe You, Jesus. Now I need to take the right steps forward and show Him that I trust His plan for my life. God, help me, please 🙏 THANK YOU, FLC, for allowing Annie to come preach this incredible, heart-rending (in the best way possible), message on Abundant Life!

I’d rather be single than be treated poorly in a relationship. I thank God for my peace and my freedom.

This is the first message that has brought me any encouragement! Stop telling singles our value lies in serving the ones God values/loves more “married folks and their kids” (not what is said but what is often heard). This message right here is what we need. We are hurt because we were taught (subconsciously) that God is withholding a meaningful life from us for some unknown reason. The best most people can offer is how to pass the time. We do not have models to observe what an awesomely blessed and fulfilled life that has always been single can look like. May God raise them/us up, and may we all be completely convinced that it’s not about “I’m not good enough to be blessed in this way” but about that in this season… this is how God can bless me the most. It’s a positive not a negative. God bless. ❤

Your right. I can be so happy being single. It is a gift. But 2 o'clock comes around often. At 67 now. I stopped dating 20 years ago this spring. Was married twice. I gave all and it was never enough. Less pressure and stress as single. Perhaps someday again. That's God's decision. Glad I found you. Heard you on K-Love radio talking Genesis and the creation. I hope to learn more on that. Hugs to all from Albuquerque grandpa.

I am so grateful for this sermon! I am divorced, a single mom with two kiddos. I have no desire to be married again and SO many of my married friends are baffled by this. I love my married friends, but many do act like there is something missing in me, because I don’t have a husband. I am so blessed that my sister understands it though. I am so blessed and my life is so full and abundant and it’s because I am single! I can’t imagine life being any better then it is right now and I am grateful to God for giving me the life that I didn’t choose. This is the path God chose for me and it’s the best path for God to get me where He is getting me. I would love to see my kids married one day, to have grandkids, and to see my family grow. But if God has singleness for them too, I will be joy filled for that also. This is such an abundant life!

Annie, God is so amazing. I was just talking to my mom this morning about singleness. I was playing the song praying for you by Mandisa. If you don’t know, Mandisa passed away last year. She was single and she never had a husband or kids. Two of my cousins just got married last year and two more of my cousins have boyfriends and girlfriends. I was thinking. When is it my turn to have a boyfriend and I said that sometimes I picture myself with binoculars looking for my boy. I was just talking about this and then hours later this popped up thank you Jesus. I also commented on your podcast earlier about TJ that was beautiful. I know I haven’t lost a baby, but I have lost my grandpa and my aunt. I would love to ask my mom to get this children’s book if she’ll let me thank you so much, Annie
