(Freshly down-voiced hammers) Chopin Prelude No. 4 (for Jen) - Seiler Piano

Just down-voiced the hammers using a 3-needle tool on the crowns (set them to poke shallow, only about 1 cm...more than that can ruin them). Used a voicing block of wood for support. Squeezed 3-4 together at a time for further support and stabbed evenly around the crown anywhere from 15 times (low bass) to 5 times (high treble) until they felt consistent from hammer to hammer. Tested sound as I went.
Took the edge off the sound in my old, cinderblock home. Much softer on the ears.
Microphones (equal wave-strength)-
2 AKG C414 XLIIs on regular cardiod setting, A-B configuration, about 5 ft. from piano, head-high, this side of lamp, just out of view, pointed at strings
2 Soyuz SU-013s, also in A-B configuration about 5 fts from piano, head-high, also this side of piano but to the left, and also pointed at strings
