I am still not sure if I want to be living with a roommate for the next year. I will be graduating high school this year, and I got accepted into WCU. I hate living with strangers because I am a very introverted person and I have trust issues with people as I only accept people that I know and feel real comfortable as friends. Sadly roommate dorms are the cheapest dorms available that I currently know of.

There are always single room options if you decide that having a roommate just isn't for you. However, I know that WCU usually has an Instagram or Facebook profile dedicated to the freshman class for that year. It's on these pages that alot of people can meet other freshmen, ask questions, and even find a roommate. I have talked to a lot of people who found their roommates via a WCU Facebook page. Also, if you apply for a roommate, you can specify things that can help match you up to a suitable roommate. Things like whether you like the room hot or cold, whether you are messy or clean, go to bed late or early, etc. It's very helpful :)

I also go to WCU and live in Noble. I’m graduating in 5 weeks 😳 good luck during the rest of your time here. I still remember my freshman move-in into Scott like it was yesterday. I’m actually a little sad college is over. Make the most of it. I know graduation seems like forever away for you but coming from an almost-graduate, it goes by faster than you think and faster than you want it to

That's so exciting! Hope you will love it as much as I do. It certainly depends on the classes and professors you take, but all the gen. ed. classes I took my first two years here were really not bad at all. WCU does a pretty good job of making sure your classes aren't too hard to let you ease into college life, so I wouldn't be worried. :)

Thank you! The dorm I am in is not an honors dorm, although it is one of the nicer dorms on campus. The honors dorms, Balsam and Blue Ridge, are great too! They are super close to the main dining hall on campus, and they are pretty quiet and clean. :)

There is one main road that runs in front of campus that's pretty straight and flat as far as mountain roads go :) there are some curvy back roads, but it's really easy to drive up here.

It really depends on who you hang out with! There's a pretty diverse demographic on campus so you're sure to find your people! On sunny days people spend hours outside sitting on the hill in front of the cafeteria, playing pickup games of frisbee, football, spike ball, etc (a fantastic way to make some new friends- you can often just join in with people), or even just talking with friends! People sit around the fountain and play music sometimes, people love riding longboards, bikes, and scooters to and from class. There's an awesome social, friendly atmosphere. There are plenty of clubs and sports to be a part of, and always some good adventure opportunities! I love it! And I hope you will too!

@@trackstardav8624 There are a lot of events that happen; from concerts to comedy shows, movie theater nights, runs, service projects, musicals, holiday events, blood drives, events for your dorm hall (for example, my RA hosted an event or us to tye-dye socks and eat pizza), and more, there's always something you could be doing! Yes! most classes are fairly small with about a ratio of about 20-30 students to one professor (small enough that each professor can usually learn your name).

@@trackstardav8624 Moe's, Chick-fil-A, Freshens, Panda Express, Which Wich, Chili's, Steak N' Shake, Einsteins Bagel Co., Papa John's Pizza, and of course the main cafeteria and Brown dining hall! Lots of options! Directly off campus, people like to go to Cookout, Taco Bell, Dunkin' Donuts, Bojangles, as well as a couple other non-chain restaurants. There's more than you might think!

It's moderately competitive. WCU is experiencing a growth in its student body, which makes it a little less competitive than some other colleges.

What is drop ad week?

Hey Jahzara! Drop-add week is a week during which you have the freedom to drop any classes you don't like or think might be too much to handle and switch them out for or add classes that would would like to take or need to add. Adding and dropping classes is MUCH easier during drop-add week because everybody will be doing it and every professor knows it might happen.
